How many socialist mayors has the city of Milwaukee had? Glenn asked that question Monday on The Glenn Beck Program, following a weekend of violent protests in the wake of another police shooting.
"How many socialist mayors have they had? Not a Democrat, a socialist . . . ran as a socialist," Glenn asked.
"I mean, it should be zero," Co-host Stu Burguiere said. "They went through that era, which you've explained many times --- the progressive era. They were very central in that."
In total, Milwaukee has had three self-declared socialist mayors, which means the city of Milwaukee has been governed for 38 years under socialism. In fact, the city has not had the benefit of Republican policies since 1908.

"So they've been under Democratic and socialist mayoral terms since 1908, and 38 years under socialism," Glenn said.
"How is that working out?" Stu asked.
"It's not working out well. I don't know if you know that," Glenn said.
"I was just curious," Stu said. "That's a socialist, of course, not being able to implement full socialism. Imagine if they did."
