Author Richard Paul Evans attended Comic-con in Salt Lake City, Utah last week to announce the newest book in his massively popular Michael Vey series.
"I was raised with comic books, I saved my money to buy comic books," he said in an interview at the event.
Evans explained how he took a different approach from his previous when writing the Michael Vey series, which is geared toward younger readers.
"So I wrote this --- I didn't tell anyone. I actually did this for fun. And then I showed it to my agent, she's like 'what is this?' and she looked at it and nobody thought it would do that well," Evans said.
He went on to point out the impact Glenn made on the series' success.
"And then Glenn Beck found it --- the radio show host --- he said 'this is fantastic,'" Evans said. "Look, it's sold millions of copies. It's worldwide and it's doing really well."
