The highly political NFL is back at it again, this time threatening punishment to the state of Texas if they do not allow males who say they are female into women's and girls' bathrooms, locker-rooms and fitting rooms.
According to NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy, if Texas is to enact Senate Bill 6—a law that mandates public schools and public buildings allow bathroom entry based on sex reflected on one's birth certificate, not "gender identity"—they will likely bar the state from hosting future Super Bowls.
"If a proposal that is discriminatory or inconsistent with our values were to become law there, that would certainly be a factor considered when thinking about awarding future events," said McCarthy, speaking of the new legislation.
Of course, the fact that Senate Bill 6 allows stadiums to set their own bathroom policies is of no apparent concern to the NFL.
