DAVID: Here's what I want to point out, in terms of people trying to figure out the way the left and the right -- and this is kids that go to school. You know the best way to tell people about the left and what they really are about, they always had -- including when I was in college, what they had on us was they claimed to have compassion. So you send conservatives to school. Paint them as racists. Bigots. Uncompassionate. That's why liberals are liberals because we aren't -- it's a lie. But they have their foot in the door and that's how they convince kids to go to the other side. They're the ones that are hateful, intolerant, uncompassionate. And I have some young kids I've talked to who have experienced the salivating meanness of the left, the intolerance. They'll never be a liberal now because they now know how mean these people are.
Now, this is -- let me give you an example. We mentioned this. No conservative ever tries to suppress the speech of a liberal. None that I know. We believe of the marketplace of ideas and that our ideas will triumph if given a full airing. Liberals apparently either don't believe that or they don't care. They want to suppress. And I mean that. They want to suppress our speech, our religious freedom. And evidence of that is, they are triumphant that this happened to O'Reilly.
I can't imagine going after a liberal icon. I don't want to get those people off the air. In fact, they're a great advertisement for conservatism because they are so mean and intolerant. The more they flourish in their own little world. The better they expose themselves.
GLENN: I think MSNBC has done more for the conservative movement --
DAVID: Exactly.
GLENN: -- than Fox in all of its years.
DAVID: Plus, I don't wish ill on them personally. I can't stand what Bill Maher stands for and the way he treats people. But I don't wish him ill. These -- and I don't know -- I don't think he actually wishes some people ill. He's a free speech guy anyway. He's one of the free liberals.
GLENN: Yeah, no. He's crazy -- he's -- he's very, very liberal, but at times, very Libertarian. So he's a mix. And sometimes he's exactly right. And sometimes you're like, what?
DAVID: Totally agree. Totally agree. But most liberals that are prominent and even that aren't, even on college campuses, they are intolerant, and they want to shut you down because they deem your ideas so toxic that they can't be aired because if they're aired, they will lead to violence. And do you realize how ridiculous they are? In the name of stopping violence that could come from speech, theoretically -- conservative speech could cause violence -- which is absurd, by the way -- but let's accept that theory. They will commit violence to stop speech that could possibly lead to violence.
STU: Amazing.
DAVID: They're amazing. And they don't even -- they're so un-self-reflective that they don't even realize how absurd they are.
