She thought she was being funny. Provocative, even. But after comedienne Kathy Griffin posed for a photograph holding a fake, bloody, decapitated head of the President of the United States, people on both the left and the right condemned her disgusting photo. To salvage her very damaged reputation, she held a tearful press conference to apologize.
Apparently, however, public shame and mockery are not the only repercussions of her ill-advised stunt. According to IJR,
... it also earned her a lengthy visit from the U.S. Secret Service.
Secret Service agents reportedly tracked down Griffin and interviewed her in person for more than an hour. Further, the investigation into the bloody head debacle remains open.
In other words, the Secret Service takes the death of a President pretty seriously. Who would've seen that coming? Oh yeah, everyone in the nation.
