President Trump held a doozy of a press conference Tuesday, calling out the so-called alt-left and defending the al-right. He went so far as to say some of the people protesting in Charlottesville were "very fine people" (although very fine people don't typically attend racially-charged protests with people carrying torches while chanting "white lives matter" or, for the record, "black lives matter" because, in truth, all lives matter). In his defense, the president said these very fine people existed on both sides in Charlottesville.
Following the presser, at least two prominent supporters of the alt-right praised the president on Twitter:
Trump cares about the truth. https://t.co/Dv0gGmysPc— Richard ☝🏻Spencer (@RichardBSpencer) August 15, 2017
It would seem Trump hit a home run in the alt-right's eyes.
What do you think? Did President Trump legitimize the alt-right at his press conference?
