From Olympic champion to cancer survivor, Scott Hamilton has been an inspiration. He wants his story to be an encouragement to everyone – but especially to the younger generation. On today’s show, Hamilton talked about his upcoming book, “Finish First: Winning Changes Everything,” and shared some of his fascinating life stories.
“This was really meant to be just a wakeup call and a little bit of an ‘I’m here to cheer you on,’” Hamilton said, describing the book as a guide to “taking your talents to places unknown and to really live your lives fully and joyfully.”
He also shared his thoughts on the whole Tonya Harding-Nancy Kerrigan debacle that has been in the news again.
“A big part of redemption is to come forward … I’m not 100 percent sure that Tonya’s ever really done that,” Hamilton said.
He remembered how he and Harding had shared the same sponsor, a “gift” Hamilton says she never understood.
“Tonya bit every hand that ever fed her,” he said.
I wanted to check my ‘height privilege’ at the door with @ScottHamilton84. Rare to find his quality, kindness and sincerity in someone as famous as he is. A real stand out of a man. His book Finish first is a must read. pic.twitter.com/WIYRjBVQJs
