- "Have enough household items and groceries so that you will be prepared to stay home for a period of time," Dr. Nancy Messonnier, a senior CDC official, said in a conference call Monday.
- Risk of serious illness increased dramatically for patients 60 and older and was the highest for people 80 and older.
- Existing health conditions, such as diabetes and heart disease, also increases the risk, Dr Messonnier said.
- People in these high-risk categories should avoid close contact with people who are sick, avoid crowds in poorly ventilated spaces, and avoid all non-essential travel like plane trips.
- Residents advised they will be unable to travel outside their own Provinces without official government passes.
- People should not leave their homes unless absolutely required for work or for emergencies.
- Quarantine is effective immediately and no end-date was provided by the government.

- The study concludes that yes, those infected with SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19) can shed virus and be infective to others in as little as 12-14 hours after they were first exposed.
- Patients are confirmed to be shedding virus via blood, mucus, spittle and fecal matter while showing no symptoms (asymptomatic spread).
- Patients showing no symptoms or mild symptoms shed less viral material than those with significant symptoms.
- Patients with mild-symptoms tend to cease being infectious to others 8-10 days after the onset of symptoms, despite continuing to shed viral material.
- Recovered patients are confirmed to be shedding non-contagious viral material for 2-3 weeks after recovery, according to the German study.
- Cuomo said the state's product is 75 percent alcohol compared to name-brand competitor Purell, which is made of 70 percent alcohol. Health officials recommend using a hand sanitizer made of at least 60 percent alcohol.
- The New York product also has a "very nice floral bouquet" scent, Cuomo added.
- "To Purell, and Mr. Amazon and Mr. eBay, if you continue the price gouging, we will introduce our product, which is superior to your product," Cuomo said. "And you don't even have the floral bouquet, so stop price gouging."
- The State is apparently using prison labor to mix the flowery sanitizer, made up of rubbing alcohol, glycerin, and aloe.
- No word yet on how or where New Yorkers can obtain the new Cuomo-Sanitizer.
- The coronavirus that causes Covid-19 can linger in the air for at least 30 minutes and travel up to 4.5 meters – further than the "safe distance" advised by health authorities around the world, according to a study by a team of Chinese government epidemiologists.
- Study was based on people infected on a bus who passed the virus to others who were more than 12 feet away.
- Authorities pointed out the importance of wearing a surgical mask or facemask if you are infected or believe you may have been exposed to the virus, even if you are maintaining safe distance from others.
