Rush Limbaugh has meant so much to the conservative movement and his recent diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer has sent shock waves through the talk radio community. Rush is a talk radio legend. But more than that, he paved the way for conservative broadcasters like Glenn Beck, Mark Levin or Sean Hannity.
On the radio program Tuesday, Glenn gave a heartfelt tribute to the "pioneer" and "patriarch" of modern talk radio.
"Rush Limbaugh is not only a legend, he's a pioneer. The difference is, a pioneer knows they might get killed along the way. Knows that they might get stuck in the mountains. Knows that, 'this is risky.' That's Rush Limbaugh ... and without him, I don't know what happens to the rest of us on talk radio," Glenn said.
"Rush, I'm not only praying for you because you're a good guy, and I'm grateful for what you've done for me personally -- not for my career, but as a person in America that cared. Thank you for being with us. But I'm also praying for you because I don't know what happens to our voices if you go away," he continued. "If the patriarch goes away, none of us are qualified to sit in that chair."
