Behind the Scenes

'I didn't know Roosevelt had ever been shot!' Stories from Glenn's museum

We've been going around the Blueprints of Liberty event asking people their biggest takeaways from the museum experience, and this gentleman said his biggest surprise was to learn that Teddy Roosevelt was SHOT while on the Presidential campaign trail. And he isn't the only one! Most people haven't heard of this epic story.

On October 14, 1912, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Roosevelt was scheduled to deliver his acceptance speech as the Progressive Party’s nominee when a local saloonkeeper, John Flammang Schrank, shot Roosevelt in the chest. Roosevelt's life was spared by his steel glasses case and his folded 50-page handwritten speech that were stuffed in his pocket, slowing the bullet's path. Glenn owns BOTH the glasses and the life-saving speech and brought them as a part of the Blueprints of Liberty museum exhibit. Click HERE to see Glenn packing them up for the exhibit!

What's the best part of the story? Roosevelt stood up, determined that the bullet hadn't punctured his lungs, and delivered the speech! His opening comments to the crowd were:

Friends, I shall ask you to be as quiet as possible. I don’t know whether you fully understand that I have just been shot—but it takes more than that to kill a Bull Moose.

Hence the Bull Moose Party was born.

Mexico’s Cartel Hell: Insider Reveals 50% of Nation Lost

Is Mexico a “failed narco state” controlled by cartels? Glenn speaks with Brandon Darby, co-founder of Breitbart’s Border and Cartel Chronicles, who works with sources in Mexico to expose the truth on the ground. He tells Glenn just how bad the situation is, how entrenched the cartels are (they control over HALF of Mexico’s territory), and whether Trump has a chance of eliminating them. But instead of sending in special forces, Darby has another idea that could keep Mexico from looking like “a smaller version of Ukraine and Russia.”

Exposed: Obama-Biden Judges’ Shocking Coup to Sabotage Trump’s Agenda

There is a judicial coup happening against President Trump, Glenn argues. Glenn exposes the activist Obama and Biden-era judges who are conducting a full-scale, coordinated assault against the mandate that the American people gave Trump. There’s Judge James Boasberg, who tried to stop Trump from deporting illegal immigrant criminals. Then, there’s Judge Ana Reyes, who halted Trump’s trans ban in the military (and who also has a long history of donating to Democrats). Also fighting Trump are judges Theodore Chang and Amir Ali, who are trying to reverse Trump’s dismantling of USAID. This isn’t normal “checks and balances.” This is left-wing judges using lawfare to play president and fight the dismantling of the deep state.

Is the EU Plotting to “SABOTAGE” Trump? Heritage Foundation President Sounds Warning

Are European Union elites working to “sabotage” President Trump’s plans for the West? Glenn speaks with Heritage Foundation president Kevin Roberts, who makes the case that Trump is trying to reset the West and stop the “managed decline” of the World Economic Forum’s Great Reset. But many European leaders are so embedded into that old system that they won’t go down without a fight. Glenn and Kevin also discuss Trump’s negotiations with Mexico and Canada, whether former UK Prime Minister Liz Truss was right to call Britain a “failed state,” and why Kevin believes Trump’s cabinet, JD Vance, and one other thing are Trump’s biggest wins.
