America's history with the Native American people is a complicated one. There were many times when the American government forsook their promises and inflicted many injustices on the native peoples. However, there were also many heroes throughout U.S. history that fought for the Native American people and defended their rights. Glenn's museum has artifacts capturing the good, the bad, and the ugly of this complicated history.
In this powerful video, a woman and her son, both of Native American heritage, remark on how Glenn's museum contains many artifacts showing the bonds and cooperation of the U.S. government and Native American peoples, like the medal of honor that George Washington gave to a Native American warrior.
Like they said in the video, the history between the U.S. government and the Native Americans is filled with good and evil. We must remember the times when we did good on our promises and learn from the times when we didn't. Glenn's museum attempts to do both.
