WATCH: Equal Justice is not the same as Special Justice

On Thursday’s episode of The Glenn Beck Program, Glenn took a hard look at the immigration bill and explained why the progressives are wrong when they say it’s a solution to a Civil Rights issue. Why is it insulting to the people who have immigrated here legally? And what does it mean when America says you no longer have to follow the rules? He answers these questions and breaks down the real civil rights issues being ignored in the debate.

Look well as to how far we have allowed ourselves to fall America: the criminals are rewarded and the lawful citizens are condemned as the criminals and made into second class citizens.

This is the mess that we see within the PC Madness demanded from the Democrat Socialists; in which one or more group or class of citizens are made, by the will of the government, to be ‘more equal’ than others.

To speak, to challenge, to even debate about one of these groups becomes crimes of hate, while the groups so protected are allowed to do as they please. This will be the future of America if the tide is not turned and soon.

there was a time when it was illegal to have an interracial marriage, targeted at african americans, but that was rewarded civil rights. you know why? because it was the right thing to do, it was a civil rights issue. so we rewarded those people who broke the law back in the day having an interracial marriage by acknowledging their basic human rights. right now these illegals are coming over here, working terrible jobs, busting their asses for decades, but now they have to leave because now we want to enforce the laws. if the republican party goes through with this, it will be a long time before they are relevant again. the reason why is not because they didn’t pander to a demographic group, it will be because they didn’t do the right thing. these legislators should be working their tails off working on the bill and amending and making the bill stronger for what they want, instead of just threatening to kill it.

It would be one thing if the “illegal aliens” came here LEGALLY, but they didn’t.  Why should they get special treatment?  I’ll give you a very simple example of how they will be treated special.  Think about this and tell me if you think this is right.

The ILLEGAL aliens will not be allowed access to any of benefits…Ok so far, but here is just one of the kickers that gives them special treatment status.  As Americans under Obamacare, if we don’t get their insurance we are fined, even if we don’t want their insurance or even believe in the Obamacare.  However, the ILLEGAL aliens are not allowed to have Obamacare but…THEY DON’T HAVE TO PAY THE PENALTY FOR NOT GETTING THE INSURANCE.  They are still, by law, able to get hospital treatment since, by law, hospitals are not allowed to turn away anyone for not having insurance.

That is just one of the many special treatment benefits they receive.  How is that fair in anyway, especially to those who have come here LEGALLY?

  • Anonymous

Sorry, but your reasoning is twisted. Illegals coming across our border and expecting benefits and citizenship is not a civil rights issue. They have no rights here, period! Legal Americans who want to marry other legal Americans of a different race is a civil rights issue because the constitution grants us that right.

  • Anonymous

foreigners have constitutional rights, and just b/c you break the law doesn’t mean you forfeit them.

  • Anonymous

but if you make them legal then their status is the same as everyone else.  the point is to bring them into the system so they are no longer an unaccounted for drain.

So GB, after your speech full of “ambivalence”, what are your solutions for the immigration system and what would you do with 11-12 illegals/undocumented fathers, mothers, children and the whole enchilada?? We need to hear your plan and ideas NOW!!

If I were an illegal immigrant, I wouldn’t want amnesty.  I have the best of all worlds.  The Obama administration will not deport me so I can live in the most wonderful country in the world without having to pay taxes, I get free health care, my kids get to go to school for free, I don’t have to learn/speak English, etc.  When granted amnesty, I would have to pay taxes, have to get Obamacare or pay the penalty and all the other burdensome things that Americans have to do every day.  The only reason that an illiegal immigrant would WANT amnesty is to get freebies from the American taxpayers.  What other possible reason could there be for those that have it made right now?  I sometimes think it would be better to BE an illegal immigrant than a legal American citizen. How do I sign up to be become an illegal immigrant here in America?

  • greywolfrs

Deport them ALL. They should get rewarded for breaking our laws, dolt. Bring home half the troops stationed in Germany and Japan and put them on the southern border with orders to shoot anyone N bound. Now, crawl back under rock, douche bag.

  • greywolfrs

Hey stupid, just because a bunch people break our laws and come here does not mean they get rewarded for it. Those laws are there for a REASON, you just are not smart enough to realize what those reasons are. As for your stupidity about Republicans, most of the country do NOT want this. Idiot.

  • greywolfrs

Wrong, just because the government says they do, does not mean they do. A foreigner who comes here does NOT fall under our Constitution. They are foreign national and fall under the Constitution of the country they come from. Now, let’s take Mexicans, for instance, we should enforce the Mexican immigration laws on THEM.

  • greywolfrs

No, we have immigration laws for a reason. By your reasoning, anyone who shows up should be made a citizen. That would be an easy way for other countries to solve their criminal problems. All they need to do is try them, if convicted, put them on a boat and drop off here. Then dolts, like you, make them a citizen. They go out and commit the same crime here, then we have to pay to try them, AGAIN, and jail them.

By the way, People like you do not get to pick and choose which laws are to be followed. We have tried this before, TWICE. Reagan did it the first time, then William “the Zipper” Cunton and now we have another 12 MILLION illegals? Where does it end? Or maybe that is the point, it doesn’t end. No thanks.

On another note, the majority of people in the country are against amnesty, but don’t let that get in your way.

  • Anonymous

Yes they do. They get miranda rights, free speech, assembly, religion, can own a gun- extra hoops but they can, right to trial by jury. The constitution doesn’t apply to the people it applies to the government,

  • Anonymous

I speaking only to that specific reason not as a general rule or opinion.
Its cost benefit, amnesty is better than the way things are now. That doesn’t mean amnesty solves much, border security is still a problem, the immigration system is still messed up and a number of improvements could be made to provide viable legal pathways to people who would otherwise cross illegally to make money to send back to their families.
And why would I let what the majority think get in the way of me supporting what I think is overall a good idea?

wrong,in my state you have to be a legal resident and pass a background check..plus be a legal resident of the U.S.our laws apply here,to us not them.open up the CONSTITUTION and the BILL OF RIGHTS,does not say    anything about other countries only the U.S.

  • Anonymous

its the constitution of the us governing the actions of the us.
Foreigners can be legal residents, I’m saying that the constitution applies to non-citizens in response to earlier claims to the contrary.
The U.S. constitution does not apply outside of the this country, but it applies to how the government treats all of the people in this country.

  • greywolfrs

Actually, you are quite wrong. The Bill of Rights are the rights granted to CITIZENS, period. It’s exactly why slaves did not have rights. Even after the Emacipation Proclamation, slaves were only counted as 3/5 of a citizen. You are clearly wrong.

  • greywolfrs

Again, amnesty has been tried TWICE, it does not work. It’s time to do what Eisenhower did and deport them all. This time close the border tighter than a frog’s ass. I do not really care if they cross the border to make money to send to their families. That is like saying I should be able to rob banks because I want a better life for my family, except robbing banks is ILLEGAL, just like crossing our ILLEGALLY.

  • Anonymous

slaves weren’t considered people, they were more in line with livestock. slaves had no rights b/c they weren’t people

  • Anonymous

crossing the border illegally is a pretty small crime that doesn’t in and of itself harm anyone. Amnesty alone does not solve everything, it addresses a small specific problem for a temporary period of time. You need amnesty/path to citizenship plus other stuff-comprehensive plan that works together to solve or improve a complex issue. Obviously Eisenhower deporting everyone didn’t work either. That would also be more difficult and more expensive. We do need to close the border better than we have, but to use the too much government power. Closing the border could also be used to keep us in just as much as to keep others out.

  • Anonymous

But that is not what the Gang of 8 legislation does. It does not make them “citizens”. For that they have to go through the process “supposedly” for legal citizen status. In the mean time though they are not suppose to have any benefits, but as I explained below with that one simple example that is exactly what will happen. This is true. Read the Gang of 8 legislation.

  • greywolfrs

They were considered people, although they were considered PROPERTY, therefore had no rights and were NOT citizens.

  • greywolfrs

Crossing the border is a “small crime and not hurt anyone?” Are you serious? These people take jobs, they take all the entitlement programs. They are taking Medicaid away from people CITIZENS who could use it. They ARE getting HUD and taking housing away from CITIZENS who could use it. They are exploding the classroom size in our schools, which leads to a lower quality of education for our children. Yet, you claim they are hurting no one? Wake up.

Amnesty solves NOTHING. The problem here is we have system for coming to this country LEGALLY and these people think the rules do not apply to them. By the way, it wouldn’t cost nearly as much to deport them as they are taking out of our system. On top of that, deporting them is a one time cost (after we close the border), whereas them continuing to collect off of our system is an ongoing cost. Besides, there are things that CAN be done that cost the government NOTHING and gets many of them to self-deport. Stop ALL entitlements to non-citizens. E-verify for work and renting a place to live. No more free education without citizenship. No more free medical treatment. Those things alone would get most to self-deport, then all we need to do is close the border.

How can one say putting troops on the border is to keep us in? If one is a LEGAL citizen, they are NOT running through the desert to get into the country. They go to places like San Ysidro and cross, right through customs. That is a flawed argument and you know it.
