Another Beck vacation at the ranch has taken some unexpected twists and turns, but despite a few broken bones everyone might be coming out a better person at the end of it. Glenn and the family are staying at their ranch in the Mountain West this week, and they've already had to take a trip to the hospital.
According to Glenn's posts on Facebook, Raphe and his friend Bowen were riding ATVs on the ranch when the vehicle suddenly rolled on them.
"As seemingly always, when on vacation, we are headed to the hospital. ATV rolled on us. Raphe is in a bit of shock, and his best friend (the one smiling in the photo for the first time in an hour) has a broken arm," Glenn said. "Praise God it wasn't worse,"
Bowen apparently unbuckled his seat belt, thinking they would be trapped inside. He ended up getting trapped underneath the vehicle and breaking his arm. When the adults reached the scene, Raphe had already gotten free and was doing his best to dig his friend out of the mud.
While the accident left everyone shaken, Glenn captured some powerful moments on camera of Raphe and his friend Bowen.
"It has been not the quiet vacation I usually like, but I have had some life long memories made in just two days," Glenn wrote. "Picking my sister up at her home in Wyoming. Teaching my nephew how to shoot a shotgun. Teaching my friends kids how to shoot a hand gun, teaching an amazingly smart, kind and well behaved young man the history of America one on one. And watching my son comfort his best friend in the hospital after they flipped an ATV in the mud."
"You find out a lot about character on a day like this. I found treasure inside my son!" Glenn concluded.
Glenn also thanked his security firm, Gavin de Becker, for their help in getting everyone stabilized after the accident.
"Thank God for my Gavin DeBecker security team," he wrote. "They have protected me and my family for several years and I have seen them do truly heroic things. Lance and Rick, who is an EMT-B, are on duty this trip. They had everyone stabilized and the hospital alerted within ten minutes."
