Former President of Mexico Tells Us That Gun Control ‘Must Be Dealt With’

Vicente Fox, former president of Mexico, joined the calls for gun control reform in the U.S., tweeting, “#GunControl is a topic that must be dealt with ASAP. American people must not be looking over their shoulder for their countrymen.”

People began crying “#GunControlNow” almost immediately after the shooting in Las Vegas late Sunday night. Whether or not it’s constitutional, it’s one thing when Americans are calling for gun rights to be curtailed – and another when someone from another country is doing it.

While sitting in for Glenn this morning, Doc was blunt in his reaction to the former president’s tweet.

“So the citizens of Mexico are willing to risk their life walking across the desert with no water to come to this country, but he thinks this country’s worse?” he asked.

DOC: Doc Thompson in for Glenn Beck. And we're all about solutions. Not just bitching about problems. We're offering you solutions. And you know who else is offering you solutions? Vicente Fox, the former president of Mexico.

KRIS: Oh.

DOC: Solutions.

KRIS: Good, good, good.

DOC: While we were running around yesterday upset at what had transpired in Las Vegas, now with 59 people dead, 527 injured, Vicente Fox of Mexico took to Twitter to help America.

KRIS: Good. Good.

DOC: To help America. Yes.

And he offered this tweet: #Guncontrol is a topic that must be dealt with ASAP.

KRIS: Okay.

DOC: American people must not be looking over their shoulder for their countrymen.

KRIS: Okay.

DOC: Excellent. Excellent job. Vicente Fox of Mexico offering us help with our country.

KAL: Unless I'm not mistaken, Mexico has some violence problems.

DOC: They have, what?

KAL: Cartels.

DOC: Mexico?

KAL: Federales.

DOC: Really?

KAL: I mean, last time -- I remember reading -- don't they decapitate people, the cartels.

DOC: Okay. Sure, sure, it's a violent place.

KAL: Hanging them from bridges.

DOC: It's been rated recently the second deadliest country in the world, worst than Afghanistan and Yemen.

But it's not --

KAL: You know you're bad when the Afghanis are like, at least we're not Mexico.

DOC: It's horrible here, but, damn, we're not Mexico. Have you seen that place?

KAL: And I've been to Afghanistan. So...

DOC: You've been to Afghanistan?

KRIS: I've been to Afghanistan. Not to Mexico. I would never --

DOC: Never go there though. That's not good.

KRIS: No. But I'll take my Afghani trip.

DOC: So a guy who used to run a country that has been rated the second deadliest in the world -- so does he think America is number one? It's the first deadliest? Is that what he's thinking?

Okay. So the citizens of Mexico are willing to risk their life, walking across the desert with no water, to come to this country, but he thinks this country is worse?

KRIS: Hmm. Got a perspective on that.

DOC: That seems a little off.

We need to be more like Mexico, in other words, according to Vicente Fox.

KRIS: You need to be like us, man.

DOC: Yeah. We need to be more like Mexico. Because that's worked so far, so well for Mexico. It's worked out pretty well for Mexico being like Mexico. Okay.

See, Mexican citizens actually have the right to own guns.

KRIS: I didn't know that.

DOC: They absolutely do.

KRIS: That's good for them.

DOC: However, the state has put so many additional restrictions on them that nobody legally owns guns. Very few people do. The price, the permits you have to get. The rules and restrictions.

So what they do is they go, no, no. You can -- no guns, sure, as long as you meet all of these criteria. The only people that have guns are the criminals. That's it.

KRIS: And the Federales.

DOC: And the Federales who are also criminals.

KRIS: Which are criminals.

DOC: Yeah, I was being redundant there, right. Isn't this what they keep telling us about the Second Amendment here? You hear the people like Nancy Pelosi and the Chuck Schumers and the Tim Kaines. People like that come out and go, no, I absolutely support the Second Amendment. Absolutely. We just need common sense gun laws. I absolutely -- I'm not trying to take guns away. It's common sense gun laws. Much like the ones they have in Mexico?

Vicente Fox. Vicente Fox is advocating gun control for America.

How has that worked for Mexico? The second deadliest country in the world, according to a recent survey. And lots of those people murdered with guns.

KRIS: That right there, just stop and focus on that for a second. Mexico is more deadly than Afghanistan, where the Taliban is. And Iraq, where ISIS is.

DOC: Yes. Yes. Uh-huh.

KAL: Mexico is more deadly than that. But he says we should take care of our country?

DOC: Yes. Although, wait a minute. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. He said, the American people must not be looking over their shoulder for their countrymen. That's the reason he's advocating gun control.

Maybe he thinks we should be looking over our shoulder for something other than countrymen. And with gun control, who would that be? The government!

Ah, Vicente, I'm going to take back some of the things I've said about you. Now I understand. You just want gun control for the people of America, not the government. So we would just look over our shoulder for the government, like you do in Mexico. Although, to be fair, they look over their shoulder for the countrymen and government in Mexico. So...

KRIS: It's really interesting to see the ex -- the former president of Mexico, the one that has a love interest for our president.

DOC: Oh, he has Trump derangement syndrome.

KRIS: Oh, he -- his advice? You know, I would be okay if it's like a successful president saying, hey, this is what I did for my country. And I was able to, you know, bring down crime.

DOC: Look how great we are.

KRIS: But this is the guy that has cartel people running around, chopping people's head off.

DOC: Right.

KRIS: And putting it on a stick.

DOC: The arrogance! The arrogance to tell any other country how it's done.

KRIS: I'm like, okay. Not even ISIS. ISIS is like, whoa. What is going on here?

DOC: Right. ISIS is more consistent. They're more successful. They're -- they're more successful at running their group of people.

KRIS: Yeah.

DOC: Think about this. Vicente Fox couldn't even clean up the government of Mexico. Forget about all other gun violence on the street. He couldn't even clean up the Federales and the various state police organizations from committing crimes.

KRIS: Which, by the way, is part of his government.

DOC: Right.

KRIS: So that's like saying, hey, you know, these people work for me, I need you guys to control your act. No, seriously, I need you to control your act.

DOC: This is like you owning a restaurant with horrible food, and going to another restaurant and going, okay. This food sucks. Let me -- a food that is actually pretty good and saying, let me tell you how it's done.

KRIS: I've done this before.

DOC: I've done this. You know, I own a restaurant. My food is horrible, but let me tell you how it's done.

KRIS: So is it because the title presidente? That he thinks he's all-wise --

DOC: Oh, he's out of his gourd, of course. And I see this all the time from different countries. People love to tell America how to do things. I see this especially with gun control. Oh, all the crazy people out of the UK. Just go on Twitter and social media sites, you'll see all kinds of people in the UK going, I can't believe America, dot, dot. Here's how you have to do it. And they cite a bunch of gun laws in the UK, how successful they've been at bringing down gun crime. But they never talk about the increase in knife crime. They love to talk about that in Australia too. We banned guns after there was a mass attack years ago. And, look, there's no gun crime. Which, by the way, isn't accurate. It's the way the statistics are kept. But they also don't tell you about the increase in knife crime. They don't bring that up at all.

KRIS: Didn't you say earlier today that there's a knife buyback program?

DOC: In the UK -- and you can look it up yourself. Look up knife buyback.

KRIS: There's a website too.

DOC: Yeah, there's all kinds of sources. In the UK, they have such a knife and stabbing problem, that they have boxes set up in areas, like around London and bigger cities, that are like -- think of, like, mailboxes that we used to have. The blue boxes --

KAL: It's surrenderyourknife.co.uk.

DOC: We'll tweet out a link out to it too.

They're like our old blue mailboxes in your community at the end of your street. And you just put mail in it. It's kind of secure. They're like that. They have a little door, and you can just drop your knife in. Because they have knife crimes. It's like a gun buyback program.

KRIS: Do you get money, or do you just drop it there?

DOC: No, to get knives off the streets because those inanimate objects are killing people.

This is the craziness. And those knuckleheads don't go, hmm. Maybe it's not the object. Maybe it's the desire. Maybe it's the motivation to kill people. They don't even get that.

All right. Tweets coming in. #whatIlearnedtoday.

Ah. Z tweeting: If we were more like Mexico, maybe the illegals would be crossing back across the border. Yeah, I think you're right

KRIS: You got Martha tweeting at what I learned today, sounds like Vicente Fox has a good reason to pay for that wall now.

That's a good one.

(laughter)

DOC: Vicente Fox, build the wall. Keep the guns from coming to Mexico.

KRIS: I will pay that wall now. Here's a check.

DOC: You know what he doesn't realize, those guns are never going to Mexico, now that Obama is not in office.

KRIS: Oh. That's a good one. That's a good one.

DOC: Obama is gone. You don't have to worry about guns coming across the border. Yeah, Obama is out of office. We're not running guns anymore.

All right. Tweets coming in. It's @DocThompsonshow. Please follow me there. Let's see here.

Ah. Kara tweeting: If the gun is the criminal, why arrest? Try to imprison or execute the shooter.

KRIS: Hmm.

DOC: If the gun is the problem, why is James Holmes in prison?

KAL: True.

DOC: If the gun is the problem, why is Dylann Roof in problem? If the gun did it -- if the gun is the problem, why are you punishing -- imprisoning the perp? It's not their fault. It was the gun's fault. And if you're saying they need to be imprisoned -- if you do not -- if you agree that James Holmes and/or Dylann Roof and some of these other cats should be punished and imprisoned, then you're admitting they are culpable in this. And if you're admitting their culpability in this, then you must admit it is not the object, the way in which they murdered, but the fact that they murdered.

WATCH: Rudy Giuliani says he has PROOF Joe Biden was business partners with Chinese Communists

Tonight at 9 p.m. ET, 8 p.m. CT, Glenn Beck goes straight to the source of the biggest story in the country with Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who takes us directly into Hunter Biden's alleged laptop.

Despite Big Tech's attempts to squash this story, there should be a mad scramble in the media to get to the bottom of major corruption allegations, but they're willfully ignoring it. However, this is not just a story about Hunter Biden. This is all about Joe Biden. It's a story Glenn has been investigating for over a year that traces back to Ukraine and China. It goes directly to the root of corruption within our political system: How politicians use their family members to enrich the entire clan and sell out their country. While the media looks the other way, Glenn asks Mayor Giuliani to show us the evidence. Giuliani details the chain of possession of the laptop and reveals news that he only had possession of the laptop days before the New York Post story broke. He says, "I reported this the day after I saw it."

He also drops a major bombshell on the show and says Big Tech doesn't want you to see evidence that "establishes with texts, documents, contracts" that "Joe Biden was a 10% partner with a Chinese communist … and there are witnesses that will come forward and testify to it."

Big Tech censorship is out of control. So to watch tonight's explosive episode of Glenn TV, you must be a BlazeTV subscriber. GLENN’S THEORY: This is why Hunter Biden allegedly abandoned his laptop

We don't yet fully know why or how Hunter Biden's laptop allegedly was abandoned at a computer repair store. But, Glenn has a theory: did Hunter Biden purposely leave his computer — which contains countless materials harmful to his dad's campaign — to make it all stop? Hunter Biden has a troubled past — he has a history of alcohol and drug abuse, and it seems like Joe Biden has used his son for years to enrich the Biden family. So, Glenn thinks, maybe Hunter knew what he was doing…maybe it was a "self-sabotaging" cry for help. It's just a theory, but Glenn thinks it's a theory worth pursuing...

Former Obama admin. Secretary says we need a 'truth commission' to 'erase Trump's lies'

The far-left gets scarier each day. Now, former Obama administration Secretary of Labor, Robert Reich, is advocating for the establishment of a "Truth and Reconciliation Commission" once President Trump leaves office. He tweeted that the commission would "erase Trump's lies, comfort those who have been harmed by his hatefulness, and name every official, politician, executive, and media mogul whose greed and cowardice enabled this catastrophe." Glenn describes how similar models have been used in places like Serbia and Rwanda, and it never ends well for the minority party. In fact, Glenn says, an idea like this one can be used to further surveil and control the citizens who disagree.

How our 'free' press is censoring the truth like NEVER BEFORE

The New York Post released last week a report that COULD put an end to the Joe Biden campaign. It's too bad the NY Post is unable to share the story — which all centers on information found on the alleged Hunter Biden laptop mysteriously left at a computer repair store — with the world on social media. But the publication has been LOCKED from sharing stories on Twitter for over four days now. And it's not just the Post. Glenn describes how MSNBC's Chuck Todd blatantly disregarded fact during an interview with Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, how the Washington Post failed to correct the same claims, and how leaders at Facebook have direct ties to Joe Biden. Our "free" press continues to censor the truth and it becomes more and more frightening each day.
