Truth be known, the trouble in the Middle East has been brewing for eons, but has recently begun to boil when Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince and future Saudi king launched an “anti-corruption” purge of the kingdom’s most powerful elite. Dozens of affluent Saudis, including several members of the royal family and very senior Saudi government officials, have been arrested and are being held in, of all places, the Ritz Carlton in Riyadh.

With Saudi Arabia’s corrupt elite (i.e. anyone Mohammed bin Salman considers a rival to the throne) locked up in a five-star prison, the crown prince, who also happens to be the Saudi defense minister, has been turning up the heat on their old rival: Iran.
