Trump Recognizes Jerusalem as Israel's Capital --- Here's What It Means

What’s happening?

President Donald Trump is expected to make a formal recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel today. The move is part of the plan to shift the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and it’s a major reversal from decades’ worth of American foreign policy.

Trump is hardly the first U.S. president to try to broker a resolution between Jerusalem and Palestine.

Remind me why Jerusalem is a source of conflict:

Israelis and Palestinians have long been involved in one of the biggest conflicts in history. Jerusalem is a key site for both groups, with the Palestinians viewing the city as the capital of a future Palestinian state and Israel claiming the Old City as the holiest site in Judaism.

Glenn’s take:

It’s high time that Israel’s capital was recognized as its capital, but most of the world still has a problem with it. Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem will be akin to standing up to a bully.

“Logistically, it’s a move that makes sense,” Glenn said. “It also is conveniently the truth.”

GLENN: When is your capital really not the capital? If you're the nation of Israel, this is not a ridiculous question.

When would we ever say, Washington, DC, is not the capital of the United States. No, it's Detroit. No, it's not. No, it's not.

Even though their capital is Jerusalem, most of the world acts like it's not. We seem to have no problem with people saying, no, I identify today as a black woman. I identify today that the capital of Israel is in Tel Aviv. Really? Really?

The reason why is because we don't want to make the terrorists angry. Today, President Trump is expected to announce his decision about whether or not to keep the American embassy in Tel Aviv.

Trump's intention is to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and relocate the embassy there.

Now, logistically, it's a move that makes sense. It also conveniently is the truth. Symbolically, it's going to piss off everybody who hates Israel and the Jews. But guess what? Do we base our policy on who hates the Jews?

I think this is a -- one of one of the bravest moves I've seen a president make perhaps since Ronald Reagan said it was an evil empire, when he was talking about the Soviet Union. He is standing up to the decades of bullying. He is recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital. The United States is sending a clear message that threats of violence by the Palestinians and others are not tolerated.

It's also a message that's being sent that official US policy should not be ignored.

So let's go back to a time when Bill Clinton was in office for a second. It was 1995. Congress passed the Jerusalem Embassy Act.

Now, what is that? That required the American embassy to relocate from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Let me say this again: It required the embassy to relocate to Jerusalem.

In that act, it says that Jerusalem should be undivided and the recognized capital of Israel. And on a side note, how did this pass?

The act passed 93-5 in the Senate and 374-37 in the House.

The move can only be cancelled if we overtly stop it every six months. And that is what we've done every six months for the last 22 years. The president has come out and said, oh, jeez. Oh, that's supposed to happen? You know, I was -- I was busy in the bathroom. And I -- and just haven't had time. We need another six months.

It's a law that is 22 years late in being enacted. And it's embarrassing that it has taken this long. And it's a slap in the face to our trusted ally. It needed to be implemented them. It should have been done in 1948. And it certainly should be implemented now. If Trump actually follows through on this, it's a brave move, and he deserves a lot of credit for it.

And if he does, Israel will finally be able to let everyone know that their capital is actually their capital.

Glenn says we’re at a possible TURNING POINT toward dictatorship

Glenn says we're at exactly the same place so many countries have faced before: a turning point possibly towards dictatorship. It may not end that way — but it's time we WAKE UP and realize that's where we're heading. Eric Clapton is now facing cancelation, and if the far left can do that to a rock n roll LEGEND, what can they do to you?

Refugee: 'American Wokeism Worse Than North Korea' | Yeonmi Park | Ep 111

Yeonmi Park experienced freedom for the first time at 13, when she watched "Titanic." She didn't see it in a plush movie theater seat; she watched it over the course of several days because electricity is sporadic in North Korea, where she grew up. "We don't have a word for oppression," Yeonmi tells Glenn. "There is no hope. There is no moving forward. You are doomed." Against unbelievable odds, Yeonmi escaped and eventually made it to New York City. Then, she went to Columbia University, where she couldn't believe how American students defined "oppression." She and Glenn discuss the ridiculousness of pronoun checks, the consequences of White House-led censorship, the importance of the Second Amendment, the authoritarianism of Big Tech, and the insanity of corporations' love affair with China. But even more shockingly, she explains her fear that where her new country is heading could be worse than what she escaped: "Even North Korea wasn't as crazy as American wokeism."

Glenn Beck: Rand Paul was RIGHT to say Dr. Fauci LIED about gain-of-function

The corporate media is doing everything it can to protect Dr. Anthony Fauci after Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) roasted him for allegedly lying to Congress about funding gain-of-function research in Wuhan, China.

During an extremely heated exchange at a Senate hearing on Tuesday, Sen. Paul challenged Dr. Fauci — who, as the director of the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases, oversees research programs at the National Institute of Health — on whether the NIH funded dangerous gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Dr. Fauci denied the claims, but as Sen. Paul knows, there are documents that prove Dr. Fauci's NIH was funding gain-of-function research in the Wuhan biolab before COVID-19 broke out in China.

On "The Glenn Beck Program," Glenn and Producer Stu Burguiere presented the proof, because Dr. Fauci's shifting defenses don't change the truth.

Marxist Methods: Debunking the Left's LIES About Critical Race Theory

We've heard a lot about critical race theory lately, and for good reason: It's a racist ideology designed to corrupt our children and undermine our American values. But most of what we see are the results of a process that has been underway for decades. And that's not something the mainstream media, the Democrat Party, and even teachers unions want you to know. They're doing everything in their power to try and convince you that it's no big deal. They want to sweep everything under the rug and keep you in the dark. To fight it, we need to understand what fuels it.

On his Wednesday night special this week, Glenn Beck exposes the deep-seated Marxist origins of CRT and debunks the claims that it's just a harmless term for a school of legal scholarship. Newsweek opinion editor Josh Hammer joins to argue why we must ban critical race theory from our schools if we want to save a very divided nation.
