Strange: Newt gets standing O on cheating question

How low is America’s opinion of the mainstream media? Low enough that South Carolina’s audience actually gave a cheating prone Newt Gingrich a standing ovation after he scolded John King for asking him about it. Newt said he couldn’t think of anything more despicable than asking him that question. Yep, not much lower you can go than that other than perhaps cheating on your wife while she’s very ill and then saying you did it to save America. Right Newt?

I will settle the matter this way, in all things we do, work and family and all else – CHARACTER MATTERS. It shows us for who and what we are, what we stand for and how we believe. In it is found integrity, honor and respectability. It is hard to forge and win, and incredibly easy to warp for evil.

  • Lioness

I cannot believe that a human being would ever think that owning another human life was ever OK. Yet many of our founding fathers did. Glenn has no issues with that because of the amazing accomplishments that came from these individuals (yet I‘m sure there is a lot of other bad stuff we will never know about). Newt’s baggage would never be an issue if he was running for president during these times. How many great president will not come to fruition because of everyone’s unrealistic expectations for what a president should be?  Obama is a great family man and husband, but he stinks as a president. A great scientist can be an awful husband, morally unscrupulous, yet create a cure for cancer. You can even be a very enlightening radio host who was once a drop dead drunk. Well you get the point. Don’t be too unrealistic in your expectations, you may not like the results.

And Ron Paul was booed on The Golden Rule response to the foreign policy question. I think we are all just a little on edge, including you Glenn.

Just remember, Rush started back in 1988 – can you imagine the number of things he has endured since that time? He just kept going, turning negatives to his favor when he could and remaining a voice of reason (when he wasn’t entertaining) as pretty much the entire world (or at least the ‘important’ people, so called) dismissed him as a hate-filled freak. How many of us were, at one time, ‘secret listeners’ to Rush – so concerned were we about his controversial ideas that while we agreed, we didn’t want to let anyone else know about it. It’s easy to forget those times.

Ron Paul himself, has been engaging people in discussions for thirty years and finally today he’s getting a little positive attention (but still a ton of negative too.) He is a smart man and he knows full well the way the vast majority consider him, yet he forges ahead because he believes his country is in danger and his ideas can help, and that’s more important to him than his own reputation or well-being – that’s courage.

I think most of us who agree with you, understand your frustration at the Newt surge – but isn’t that the history of this movement as well? The true leaders that blast ahead can only take so many with them. The rest of us linger in the back, waiting to see what happens. I know it’s no consolation to say that your greatest victories (our greatest victories) may be twenty years from now – but if we don’t keep going, keep talking, keep teaching, then those victories can never happen.

The last ten years have been amazing, haven’t they? So we can’t order up a Santorum victory or demand a Gingrich defeat. Okay, fair enough. But without you and the rest of talk-radio, and without us, the audience, I really don’t think the nominee would have the clear-cut mandate. I don’t even think they would be talking about any of the things that are important to us – not in the way they do now.

So recognize the victories and stay focused on creating more of them – this too will pass…

“cheating on your wife while she’s very ill…”  Newt’s then-wife had a benign tumor removed. It was hardly life-threatening or a serious illness. Second wife? Cheated alongside Newt on his first wife, asked him for a divorce on his birthday in 1987 (changed her mind). Asked him for a divorce again in 1999 (changed her mind). Isn’t sick, wasn’t sick, doesn’t have MS as some claimed.

What is wrong with you Glenn?

I think the standing O was for the fact that Newt put one of the lame stream media down, and chewed him up, like he did to Juan Williams…I don’t think it for cheating.

I don’t think the golden rule was booed, I think it was Paul’s foreign policy that was booed.

  • Anonymous

Ron Paul was essentially equating the two. I don’t agree with his foreign policy for today, but the fact that it would not be effective shows just how much work we have to do as human beings.

Further, seeing a good man jeered for suggesting the Golden Rule in any capacity did bring back visions of Golgotha. People who are working together to help each other don’t behave like this, even when they disagree. At least that is what I learned from my christian up-bringing – maybe they teach it differently in South Carolina.

Should we judge Glenn Beck’s CHARACTER by his actions in his past?

When I heard Newt talk on his ex-wife I dint think it was right that it happened but it did happen and he was not the only one involved and I dont think the ppl  was for his divorce either .. I just dint think what John did was right and it was not the place for that question…Maybe it was that the PPl dint really think that much of John in the first place after  all he was from CNN and CNN has let it be know that CNN is for the  Obama and his lambs and old goats…And so Cavuto maybe you just were not  thinking of the right thing.. after all you media think you know what ppl on your show are thinking beforethey even opne there mouth…. Brilliantly articulate!

The debate had that moment where I think we felt that Newt was boss. Whatever else crazy things were going on, he seemed like he was in charge.

It feels like 250 odd years of progress has been almost entirely dismantled in just the last three. Frankly we’re scared and we want someone to go to Washington and tell them who’s boss and then execute our mandate. Newt is flawed, we know it, but we’re hoping he will listen to us and get ObamaCare completely repealed and not replaced. So he believes in something else, big deal! The others don’t seem like they can pull it off, but maybe, just maybe Newt can work the system in our favor.

This is not a logical position. It can be ripped to pieces through argument and facts left and right. But I think it is the way we are feeling right now…

  • mdkrause

This is why I like Newt, not the same blah blah blah politican answer.  Then go after the reporter.  He really is the only one I want to listen to,  The rest of them always is the same thing Newt is just diff.
To clarify, I don’t agree with everything in Newts life. BUT don’t we all have stuff in our lives that we would like to forget?
I would love to see a debate with Newt and Obama.

I wonder how it would be if you Glenn were held up to the world for scorn and reproof for your drunkenness and disgusting habits of years gone by. Aren’t you glad that there is forgiveness? Aren’t you glad that people don’t constantly throw your disgusting old man up in your face and point out what a wretch you used to be. I wonder how the Lord sees your constant belittling of someone else for their sins. No, I don’t really wonder Glenn. I know exactly how He feels because He said, “judge not that ye be not judged!” I spent 40 years as a missionary, 28 of those years were overseas. I’ve seen a lot of sin and a lot of forgiveness and one of the biggest obstacles that people have over past sins is getting over the condemnation and shame and actually forgiving themselves. Reading some of your tirades against others makes me think you are still a pretty self righteous man and have a lot yet to learn. I’ve been watching your show for many years now because I believe in you and I believe you have much that is good say but this “Holier than thou” attitude towards others is not easy to watch, hear, or partake of. If you want to become the man God wants you to be then you had better come to realize that this side of your nature is not pleasing to God or man. We need you. God is using you. Thank God but your are not perfect yet Glenn. Isaiah 65:5 ”
I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts; …..
Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.”

Was politics ever really about family values? I think that’s up to the individual.  Last time I checked out history it was filled with flaws, and that is just known history. I don’t have major issues with it, because humans are flawed. We continue to learn from our mistakes and grow as an individual and as a country.

Why do you say “cheating prone” Newt?  I wonder if your slate is clean and perfect… You may never have cheated on your wife but he who is without sin let him cast the first stone. Tired of your assumptions. You do not KNOW. Are we to agree with what others say about you?  Please give us some credit. What he did 15 years ago doesn’t mean that he is still ‘Cheating prone” today… I have always been so proud of you but you need to report the TRUTH not what you “think” is the truth hearing from a scorned “ex-wife”.

I am perhaps Glenn Beck’s greatest fan.  Agree with him on everything, until now.  Newt Gingrich may well be a progressive but the only candidate than debate obama.

Glenn said that he would support a third party if it comes down to Newt and obama.  Well, you may as well just go cast your vote for obama because the Republican ticket will be split and waala, guess who remains in the White House?

Newt Gingrich knows how Washington works, sure that may not be a good thing but in this case he cannot be intimidated.

So, he is divorced, Glenn so are you.  You came back from hitting bottom and certainly are my hero as well as for many of us.  I want someone who will beat obama.  Your shoe could be your vote, but do not support a third party.

  • Lioness

Actually it’s very logical when you consider his actual record. Not perfect, but he gets results.

To say the least, what Newt Gingrich did in last night’s debate was
such an “adumbration” on Newt’s part. It was the “classic case” of one
“Serial Hypocrite” Politician defending himself by pointing out the
“Serial Hypocrisy” of the Left-Leaning Media toward Republicans.

I believe that’s what drug addicts would say is “Blame Transfer”.

Were you cheering and clapping when Newt was defending himself? These
“Politicians” aren’t like you or I. They are CALLOUS SCUMBAGS who will
    SCREW YOU at every turn!

  • Anonymous

Well this tirade justifies why I dropped subscription to GBTV..  Jesus was put on earth to only save Glenn Beck, no other may change his ways but Glenn Beck..  Here they join in on working ancient history for laughs against a man running to defeat Obama, no different than the  Liberal Main Stream Media..  No support..  Milking laughs at the expenses of a fellow soldier against Obama…  Keep Glenn in front of you.. Behind you expect a knife in the back for  a laugh..

We have a REAL problem in America, it does not lay all at Obama’s feet, but he has to go in 2012..  When you boil down all the BS, backstabbing, innuendo, history, and capabilities..  Gingrich IS the only one that has a real chance at winning in 2012..  The closest competitor in my book is Ron Paul who is too old and not articulate enough to win against Obama in any debate..  He is NOT quick of mind, and gets rattled easily, stumbling on his words which will loose votes..  His stance on honoring allied commitments turns many conservatives OFF..

Glenn is right.  Newt is not.

There is something insincere about asking for forgiveness and condemning the media in the same breath.

Newt should not be allowed anywhere NEAR the Presidency.

  • http://www.facebook.com/erika.s.dolan Erika Schwien Dolan

It was not the cheating they were giving him a standing O for. It was the fact he called the liberal media out on the fact they were focusing on his marriage and not on things that would
effect us the American people. Question Obama’s reckless spending and how he cost us the American people 4 million dollars on this trip to Hawaii and bring up all the other millions of dollars he has cost the American people to amuse himself. Failed stimulus package, and Obama’s constant borrowing money and not balancing the budget. People do not want to concentrate on marriage when we have so many insurmountable problems to solve. I can not believe that the media is still protecting Obama when he made such a mess of our Country.

BRAVO Newt Gingrich!!  Call out those schoolyard bullies every chance you get.  Where was this scrutiny with obama sitting in the church of a radical anti american for 20 years?  Or, starting his presidential campaign in the home of our own home grown terrorist, comrade bill ayres?

  • http://twitter.com/BlkOps6 Hugh W. Oberg

Glen, You missed the point. Newt went after him not for asking the question, but for opening the debate with it and by extension at ABC for airing the ex-wife interview 48 hours before the votes. Pointed liberal agenda exposed. He actually answered the question, in the substance of his answer, but he pointedly exposed the wrongness of ‘driving the debate’ by using it as the lead question. Newt just said what many of us have wanted to say to the media for a very long time.

  • Lemmingsrnotusdamnit

    Glenn

This is freakin ridiculous. You’re behaving like a completely dishonest hack.

The audience was cheering because a Presstitute was made to eat his own shit in front of everybody. Bravo!

We get it that you don’t like Newt. You think he has Progressive tendencies.

Well here’s a News bulletin. Romney and Santorum have Progressive tendencies too.

Whoever wins the Republican Primary will have exhibited Progressive tendencies or rhetoric at multiple times.

Deal with it, and quit sliming Newt, while not exhibiting the same level of criticism for the others. Don’t expect your radio sidekicks to point this out. They work for you. You are their boss.

Honestly, when I listen to and watch you talking about Newt it gives me a sense of what you must have been like when you were an alcoholic dirtbag. Ugly, ugly, ugly.

Glenn, I’m really disappointed in the way you’re handling this Gingrich story.  I’ve been a listener of your show for many years and read most of your books.  Insightful, witty, and inspiring.  But on this matter I feel like I’m reading the NY Times editorial page.  You’re engaged in the same kind of gutter-snipe behavior that I thought you deplored.  Not a fan of Newt?  Fine.  Never vote for him or his dog?  No problem.  But the man has acknowledged the moral failings of his past and sought forgiveness.  You seem to be unwilling to allow that he’s sought a different path.

Aren’t you a follower of Jesus… a “redemption” kinda guy?  You’ve been very open about your own sinful past.  Should everyone continue to brand you according to who you USED to be?  I don’t think so, but that’s the treatment you’re giving Newt right now.  Not very becoming for someone who’s been forgiven quite a bit for his own past.

I would really encourage you to stick to the issues and leave the ad hominem attacks to your peers in the media.  You’re better than that

How many times have you reminded us of what a bad boy you use to be but have now become a good boy.  And it was because you found Christ?  So why can’t Newt have the same revelations?  Are you a liar?  Have our values dropped because we once believed in you?  Jesus says not one sin is greater then another.  All I know is Newt has the guts to go after the problems in this country, from getting out the most destructive president we have EVER seen, to tackling depts like the EPA, education, etc that need to be tackled.  And you are worried about some X with a grudge?  For the record, FactCheck said that Newt did NOT serve his dying wife divorce papers on her death bed.  In fact, she can verify that for you since she is still alive!

Newt is pro Israel.  Wasn’t that your whole mantra last year?  Last I heard Paul didn’t want to defend Israel and thinks Iran should have a bomb.  By saying you would support Paul over Newt, all you are doing is replacing one set of values for another.  You better rethink your stance because you are losing a lot of supporters.  My friends are dropping you like a hot rock!

It seems to me, Glenn, you should look in the mirror before you assume you have the right to judge Newt Gingrich for being a scoundrel in his past.  He admits his failings – AS YOU HAVE – he has sought forgiveness from his children – AS I ASSUME YOU HAVE – and he has asked forgiveness from God and made significant changes in his life – AS YOU CLAIM YOU HAVE.

It would probably be wise for you to get your facts straight before you stand in judgment of Newt.  Have you read the letters and interviews by Newt’s daughters?  If they can forgive him and they say he has changed, why isn’t that just as good as your claim that you have changed????…or should we question your sincerity?

Whether you like it or not, Newt’s salvation is just as secure as yours and mine…although you may get a scathing reprimand when you stand at the Throne of God for your arrogant assumption you have the right to judge him…or anyone.

I understand Glenn’s non support of Mr. Gingrich.  I believe his has made a very good case.  I also understand the support for Mr. Gingrich.  It is basically the same type of thing that brought Mr. Obama into the presidency, the people tired of the current president and he was a rousing speaker.  The support of Mr. Gingrich is the mirror image of 2008.

I also was happy Mr. Gingrich put John King in his place.  It was a virtual slap upside his head, which I think many conservatives would like to give the mainstream media with their liberal bias and distortions of the Right.  The audience was not giving a standing O to Mr. Gingrich’s indiscretions but to the slap he gave mainstream media.

Over the decades, I have become numb by the indiscretions of powerful men.  I am not so bothered by Mr. Gingrich’s affairs but am by his Progressive thought.  This is ironic considering in the late 1980s I thought Gary Hart and Bill Clinton in 1992 were not qualified to be president.  My reasoning at the time was if they couldn’t be faithful to their wives they could not be trusted as president either.  But over the years hearing politicians’ cheating, corruption, drug use, etc. it doesn’t phase me any longer.  (BTW, I think Clinton’s Monica Lewinsky issue with respect to the nation was not adultery but rather the fact that he lied about it in the context of a lawsuit (Paula Jones).  If any of us normal citizens had similarly lied in a similar context, our butts would be in jail.)

As much as I disagree with what Newt did to/with his wife, he’s not running for Husband and Chief.  I said it with Clinton and I’ll say it with Newt:  What the man does in his spare time is his business and his business alone.  Of course Clinton compounded the mistake by lying under oath, but it’s life to ruin.  I know each and every person on here reading this has made some choices in life that they’re ashamed of.  I know I have, and I know I will again.  It’s just human nature.  I just really like the way Newt put the moderator in his place.

I think your rant on Newt today was right on, and I feel the same way and thought the exact words you did – that cheating on your wife or wives is more despicable than what the media was doing.  I wish you would post the transcript of your rant on Newt on this website.  I would like to send it to several people because I too an so concerned that Republicans are acting just like the Democrats did with Obama  by letting Newt’s debate skills override all his past behavior and words. Why in the world would conservatives settle for Newt when we have a great choice in Rick Santorum who is a man of integrity, and his past behavior proves it.  It discourages me and makes me wonder how God can ever help us take our country back when conservatives make such choices.  There are numerous examples in the Bible where there were horrific consequences for taking the side of wrong rather than supporting the righteous choice.  God help us. The Newt Gingrich endorsement convinces me that if Lucifer would run for president as a Republican, would quote 10 verses of scripture and tuck a bible under his arm one half of the Christians would vote for him.

You’re getting Romney and Newt mixed up. Romney is the one who called himself a Progressive.

Newt has made comments about admiring certain policies or traits of certain progressive politicians.

You know what. I’m glad Teddy R. broke up monopolies, made sure there weren’t rats in canned food, and started the National park system.

Does that make me a Progressive?

Glen Beck is going overboard.  After been in recovery for over 20 years I have asked for and received forgiveness.  Glenn has supposedly asked for and received redemption from his higher power.  All Glen’s success is going to his head.  He is afraid to ask the hard questions about Obummer because of his ratings and is first to throw a stone at someone who is asking for forgiveness the same as he has.  I’m pretty well done with him.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/P2DCZJPKM2JVNYRPQ3QYHWIRIU Wayne

However, Newt feels differently because at the exact time he was doing this with his “personal life” he was leading the charge to impeach Clinton = HYPOCRIT!

Glenn please stop. What is wrong with you? You are going in the wrong direction… You do not know how was the specific situation, you became a judge on cheap moralizing. Newt fluently and accurately verbalize put into place those who have become a political band operating as news and entertaining industry. He is exposing the bias involved in the “media matters” operation to distort public  information in an organized way.  We are sick  and tired of this mob political Agenda poisoning and confusing not only American people but people all over the world. Those are the same journalism and press sources calling Israel as the attackers, Democratic Party as defending the poor, Republicans as racists. It is amazing to me your position on this.

  • Anonymous

Don’t worry, would take much more than that for Glenn to loose his credibility.  Maybe supporting a third party would be the test.  I for one thank God for Glenn Beck.  He certainly opened my apathy eyes.

  • Anonymous

He who is without sin, cast the first stone.  I find it interesting how Glenn continues to speak ill of Newt, and yet in his own lifes experience, has sought forgiveness for his shortcomings and addictions, and expects to be forgiven.  I am not saying that Newt’s sins should not be known, (they already are), but we have become so swayed by the winds of hopocracy, that as a person seeking public office today, can not keep the focus on whats important, the real issues affecting us all. Newt has tried desperately to do that, but as a human being that he his, had to respond to the attacts made against him. Anyone who even remotely thinks that this most recent attack against Newt is not politically motivated has their head in the sand and its permanently stuck there. Is it not possible for someone to seek and ask forgiveness for his or hers past sins, and it be held against them forever. Isn’t it time to forgive and stop casting stones when they boomerang back onto ourselves.

I’m in agreement with Kitty on both points – redemption and the dissappointment.  I paid over $3,000 to go to Restoring Honor in DC.  Loved it.  Avid Glenn listener, subscriber, etc.  But I have yet to renew, and no longer listening 3 hours, 4  when he was on TV.  I’ve lost interest and not sure why.  He has good points to be sure, but the entertainment portion has suffered, coupled with the antics of Pat and Stu who should get less air time, not more.  Glenn, it’s probably me, not you.  Sorry.  I’ll work on it.

I don’t think the applause was a sole gesture against the media.  What it really shows is that 1.  Conservative/Republican voters who pride themselves on having a strong moral compass don’t care that their male leaders treat women like second class citizens.  If their wife is sick…sleep with another woman (newt).  If they are struggling with drug or alcohol addiction, blame it on your wife and file for divorce (rush, glenn).  If their current wife is aging and losing her “outer” good looks…don’t fret.  Leave them and find a brand new trophy wife (glenn, newt and rush)! and 2.  Conservatives/Republicans are so desperate to find an intelligent or charismatic Presidential candidate that they are now forced to vote for any sewer rat who can finish an entire legible sentence.

  • Anonymous

He was involved in crony-capitalism too.

No, I don’t think Glenn’s support of Romney has anything to do with the Mormon connection.  He believes in him as I do.  Romney is a businessman and maybe that is what we need.  What I am saying is I disagree with Glenn on his attack of Gingrich for his standing up to the lame stream media.  I think Gingrich did a great job.  I also believe he is the only one that can debate the great obama.

For today, and every day you post here, I will post your lies on every comment you make on this site….

Why don’t you just go away you liar and Phony Soldier. Everyone would understand that move on your part. Your hate and ignorance is not winning any converts here. You’re the butt of jokes and ridicule.

Please see a professional about your fixation on little children strtlk/mtclayboy.

You’re a lying sack of crap. You denied serving on a submarine, and knowing what SSBN was. I posted your words verbatim.

You’re a Wikipedia sailor and a lying puke.

Here’s your “one on one” you little puke of a man.

    1. As mtclayboy you claimed that you served on a BOOMER. As strtlk you claimed not to know what a Boomer or a SSBN was “I don’t care” were your exact words. You also stated that you didn’t know where Bangor, Wa. was which is where Boomers (submarines) are fitted for duty.
Any real Submariner would know that. You didn’t!

    2. You then changed your story and claimed that you were on a BOOMER. You lied.

    3. As mtclayboy you claimed that you had damaged your ears while serving on a Submarine. As strtlk, you claimed that you damaged your ears while serving on a submarine.

    4. As mtclayboy you claimed that you joined the Navy and served for five years on a submarine but according to the timeline you gave that was proven to be a lie. You lied.

    5. As mtclayboy you said that you were a Fireman. As strtlk, you claimed you were a Fireman.

    6. As mtclayboy and as strtlk, you posted the same bigotry and hate against Glenn Beck almost word for word even using the same spelling and grammatical errors and focusing on the children. I’ve posted many of them here already.

Are you catching on everyone? He’s a liar plain and simple and nothing he claims can be believed.

Folks, I have the posts of these two Phonies and have posted just a couple to prove he is a liar and just makes up stories about his Military Service. His latest story is right out of Wikipedia. His classified VMS crap is also right out of Wikipedia and US NAVY.mil. I’m a member there.

He wants to take me on “one on one” when he’s already proven in his own words that he’s a liar and a fake.

Flag the idiot so he can come back as another loser like his other fake ID “Vinny” where hes a 10 year Army Sargent on another classified secret mission that he can’t talk about.

There you go loser, “one on one” only I backed up my posts with facts and your own words as proof. Why don’t you have the balls to admit to your lies, tuck your head up your A$$, take your bigotry and hate and Phony Soldier ID and leave us honest people alone?

Once again, Here you are caught in your lies. These are your words verbatim:

strtlk said: on Hollywood elites want to be taxed more 09/24/11 07:51 PM

“1. No idea where Bangor, WA is. I thought Bangor was in Maine!
    2. What the heck is a “Boomer” or SSBN? You know what…I don’t care!
    3. Reminding people that glenn was a dead beat dad is a factual statement about him, not his innocent children. Nice try though slime ball.
    3. Either talk about something relevant and stop this, you are jason bourne crap!”

    Caught in your lies strtlk.

    Thanks for proving me correct.

Folks, strtlk/mtclayboy has been caught in his lies, He’s a lying sack of crap.

Glenn either really detests Newt or, more probably, really likes fellow Mormon Romney.  Let’s put it in perspective.  If Newt is a big-government progressive with his conservative voting record and accomplishments, Romney is an out and out Communist, considering Romneycare and other factors of his governance of Massachusetts.  It will be interesting to hear and see Glenn’s coverage of Newt’s presidency.

  • SoThere

The top 1%, “The Rich”, pay 40% of the Nations taxes.

The top 5% (still rich)pay 60% of the Nations taxes.

The top 10% (still rich)pay 70% of the Nations taxes.

The bottom 50% pay nothing in taxes but receive subsidies so how is that not getting a break on taxes?

Update: The chart above is from the Joint Economic Committe (based on 2006 IRS data), showing the percentages of federal personal income tax paid by different groups of taxpayers: The top 1% of taxpayers pay about 40% of all income taxes, the top 10% pay 71%, and the top 50% pay 97% of all taxes. The bottom 50% pays less than 3% of all income taxes paid.

Here is the thing.  John King and others after said that they knew what Gingrich’s answer would be, and they knew how the audience would respond.  I believe that they wanted to turn the polls by giving Newt a huge boost by asking the question.  The other day they asked Romney if he supported a ban on condoms and then last night whether he would release 12 years worth of tax returns, even as Santorum, Gingrich, and Paul had not yet released.  (Gingrich’s returns were released during the debate).  They did not ask the others about condom bans and 12 years worth of returns.  They wanted to turn the Polls and vote in South Carolina.  They utterly knew the sea change that would result from asking those questions!

How many small businesses turn into large corporations ST?

  • Anonymous

The middle class is what makes this county run and people aren’t buying the scam by the rich to give them more loopholes and benefits.

  • SoThere

I have to send a check to the Feds 4 times a year. The tax codes for my business weigh 50 lbs. I employ a large number of people who I also have to pay Healthcare premiums, Unemployment premiums and Insurance premiums.

I have to spend hour on end making sure all the Government regulations (State and Federal)are followed.

I have to fill out EPA forms, pay License fees, Fuel costs, Inspectors, Transportation fees, road use tax and so much more than you will ever deal with in your lifetime.

Now you want to tell me that I don’t pay “my fair share” so I can keep my business running.

Funny stuff from a person like you who thinks they know what is fair and what is not.

  • Anonymous

No it doesn’t, but then again, Obama is a family man and good husband.    Who would you feel better with sitting at the helm?

  • Anonymous

The cost of running a business and yes you pay your fair share so don’t tell me that the deck should be stacked and give the wealthiest (large corporations) more money and power, which you always argue for.

  • Anonymous

You know the attacks on the candidates can and should be expected.  However when you have pundits like Coulter dripping honey all over Romney to the point she gushes it gets a bit tiresome.  If Glen Beck is to be believed that he follows Christ then he should stop and think.  What was the one thing that Christ asked of us to do for others above all else?  The answer would be to love one another and to forgive others as you would want others to forgive you.
He seems to not heed that part of Christianity which is also one of the hardest things to practice and one of the most rewarding.
If Gingrich has asked for forgiveness and repented of his wrongs who are we to continue to hold it against him?  If it is a matter of character that needs to be brought up then put yourself in the same shoes.  You have repented of your wrong and go to face the music in public anyway.  I would say that shows character to voluntarily step into the meatgrinder that is an election.

  • Anonymous

A level playing field and less loopholes and breaks for the wealthiest is fair game.  Not the whole deck stacked against the working class, which makes this country run.  Go ahead and make the poor, poorer and see if they can afford to buy commodity goods produced by corporations.

  • SoThere

I asked you that question, you try and answer it skidmark.

I’ll start you off, Microsoft, Apple, GM, Ford, Sears, Target, Home Depot, Lowe’s, American standard, McDonalds, Wendies, Coke, Pepsi, Exxon, Boing ect, ect.

How many people do they employ around the world (all classes) a hundred million, maybe two hundred million.

Now you do some research and add some names to the list.

  • SoThere

The middle class is just a portion of people who make the country run but I know that you’re too closed minded to see that.

  • Anonymous

Small businesses employ at least half of this country.

  • SoThere

You’re the one who wants to make the poor poorer with your flat tax. You’re really not that ignorant, are you?

One thing that no one here has considered, concerning Beck’s obviously erronious attacks against Newt  & his favoritism for Romni is that they are both Mormons.    Not sure whatt kind of religious loyalty that generates, but, just thinkin’ out loud, here.  And for the record, Newt & his first divorce as well as his second, has set the record straight, along with friends & daughters, who should know.  Good Grief, Charlie Brown!  He sure didn’t lie about his moral meanderings , under oath to Congres like Bill Lewinsky Clinton, which is precisly why he was impeached.   The lamestream Marxist owned & operated media, doesn’t pay tribute to any of those first hand accounts, rather makes great ado with sleezy, taudry stuff from an ex-wife who has an ax to grind!  They sure as hell didn’t ask ANY questions of their ” Chosen Great Imperial Leader, Barry Sorrento Hussien Obama!

I`ve been on this site for 2yr.s and it got dozens of people, around the clock involved in a spiritted debate about the caller was treated. A vast majority of the bloggers was able to agree on three basic beliefs. 1, Glen Beck owes that caller an apology for bullying him, and think he was being a bully. 2, Glen Beck is using the same tactics used by the msnbc, cbs, abc ( liberal media)  in order to get Mitt Romney in as the front runner. ( FELLOW MORMON)  3, Glen Beck is the last one in the world that has the right too judge Newt Gingrich!  I`m sure Glen was an angle when he was a practicing alcoholic! I am a trainned expert on alcoholics and how we tear through peoples life like a wrecking ball! every alcoholic I`ve ever met was the most unpopular person in his/her life. people who live in glass houses should not throw stones. Newt not only cheated on his first wife, and then married the mistress, he then cheated on the mistress/wife and married that mistress. More than that, and this is the deciding factor for me — he led the charge against Bill Clinton’s immorality.  That’s gross hypocrisy added to the serial adultery.  Has he changed?  Perhaps he has, but when we have other good people for the position. I don’t see why we should take the chance that he hasn’t.  I think Santorum knows a lot more about Gingrich’s foibles as a “leader” than he is telling, and that’s because Santorum is a gentleman.  Regarding Beck’s alcoholism — was there ever a time when he was a drunk when he condemned others for being drunks?  And Beck isn’t running for President, which is the most powerful position in the world.  We have to very sincerely consider character and integrity and honesty when we put that much power into one person’s hand.  Power corrupts — and Gingrich has already shown a vulnerability to corruption.

Like most folks, I was ready to condemn Newt, but after he talked and said what he did, I was both impressed with his truth about the media and when he spoke of hurting people. I realized I did not have Newt’s side of the story. I am sure he made mistakes and like the rest of us has grown more maturely and see life differently than when we were younger. I can’t stand in judgment of him without first looking inside myself. The man’s sins are now in his past. Bill Clinton’s on the other hand were a very big part of his life while in the White House. Yet few even cared that he was engaging in oral sex in the White House, not to mention many other affairs and charges of rape. For once Newt Gingrich has my full attention. If he will retain that warrior attitude, he just might be the one to beat Obama.

Glenn I think your right most of the time, except on this think back on your life 20 years ago

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Annie-Brewer/100003066894493 Annie Brewer

Glenn, I am as confused over this as you are, and completely disappointed in my fellow conservatives.  Gingrich has a less-than-ethical background: marital affairs, congressional misdeeds, and political shenanigans.  Yet, many conservatives, MANY conservatives that I would’ve trusted with my life are now heralding the virtues of a feisty Gingrich and skewering the self-made Capitalist!! For what?? Being an entrepreneur, faithful husband, devoted father, spiritually moral, and humble.

Too soft-spoken and polite to kill the messenger over the facts,  Mitt Romney is being passed over by conservative big-mouths because the lust for blood–particularly for the media–is overriding their rationale.  REMEMBER the recession?  REMEMBER the man that got us in this mess?  REMEMBER the overwhelming task of cleaning up the mess the Democrats have made of this country?

IF we win with a Gingrich in the White House (which is highly doubtful to me), we have already had a taste of his governing style that is contentious, unfocused, and at times completely compromising–not to mention ignorant of high finance.  Fancy-dancy financing is partially what got us in this mess and Gingrich is woefully lacking in “real world” finances experience.  Don’t forget, we have a $15 TRILLION DEFICIT!

Now, if Gingrich were going after the media for the unfair, uncorroborated, and salacious allegations made at Herman Cain, that would be a different story!  The media deserved every arrow that wasn’t slung back at them because the allegations to this day have remained unfounded.  I am angry that the media completely orchestrated Cain’s campaign.  But Gingrich should be contrite about his past transgressions–not hot-headed, nor throwing the finger of blame the other way.  The ego will be a problem for all of us if we continue to carry Gingrich to the White House.  Mark my words.

Mark my words.

so you are saying christianity id non-intelligent. gee that does not sound like you believe.

We can’t lose sight of this:  ANY of those four guys last night will be a MUCH BETTER POTUS than the mess we now have!   It is imperative that all of us vote for whosoever is the Republican candidate, which will be decided by more primaries & lot’s of other concerend folks all over America!

  • Anonymous

Careful Glenn. You have crossed into the hypocrisy zone. Might have to trash the Washington book.

  • Anonymous

Sorry, I am a republican and voted that way for most of my life, but if Newt is the candidate, I cannot vote for him, he is as bad as Obama, in my estimation.  If there is a 3rd. party candidate, I will vote for him, if not, I will vote for senate and house not for president, there are a lot of people that hate gingrich and won’t vote for him.

  • Ryan Frederick

i tell you bonehead because of what Obama is doing to this country is unstable. things like Obama care for one thing. they are mandated to buy health care for their workers and the rest of Obama commie agenda. they can’t hire people because they have now idea what the commie will do next. now stop talking to me you to stupid.

This letter is for Mr. Beck, I hope he reads the post here.

While Mr. Beck is focused on Newt’s despicable affair with another woman… Why is Mr. Beck’s mouth shut tight when it comes to Newt’s ex-wife’s despicable affair with a married man? Hey, what’s good for the goose is also good for the gander! Newt’s ex-wife Marianne was having an affair with Newt while Newt was still married to his first wife, so in reality they both did deeds of ill repute, and both person’s should be equally slapped! A woman that is having an affair with a married man, is no more reliable than the married man she is screwing! So when Marianne goes to the news media to claim her innocents while persecuting Newt, in her claiming “he wanted an open marriage” is laughable at best! Marianne was the other woman, before there was another women after her! So, No, I don’t believe her! Her affair with a married man, reeks the money train from ABC drive by media.Secondly, are any of you aware of just how much courage it takes to admit your indiscretions to those you have offended, to have to come clean, admit the destruction you’ve cause to those you love? Only God working through us can bring us to our knees and show us we need to come clean to those we offended (Matthew 18), once we do this, then humbly we ask for God’s forgiveness. Newt, admitted to the entire world, that he did this (Mt 18), so who the heck do we think we are by insulting his dignity when making a mockery of his sincerity! I haven’t heard any apologetic words of sorrow from Marianne to Newt’s first wife, where is Marianne’s remorse to the first wives club when she was screwing another woman’s husband?Thirdly, let me state upfront that I like Mr. Beck, but he is wrong here!Mr. Beck should know better, but has lost direction on this one. He has forgotten a valuable lesson. Mr. Beck admits to the world that he was an alcoholic! An alcoholic may not be an adulterous in the conventional sense, but an alcoholic has a love affair with alcohol and with their own two hands, they too destroy their family! He, like Newt, admitted their indiscretions, not only to those they offended, but to the whole world, which frankly is none of our business, this took great courage on three fronts to admit this! Yet, both actions of indiscretions were destructive to their collective families. So, why is Beck readily forgiven, yet Newt isn’t? It’s beyond words! Are their any of us out there that are without sin?! Don’t we all need a savior? Yeshua (Jesus) forgave our sins, he didn’t pick an choose what sin he would forgive, he forgave all sins. And yet somehow, humans have reached into the bottomless pit to decide what sins they are willing to forgive or not forgive… is the student greater than the Teacher?!

Yes, I understand here are lot’s of folks who hate him.  Sorry, but this third party thing got Bill clinton elected when Ross Perot went down that road.  I believe there is a certain dispicable nature to all pollys.   No more statesmen.  but we need a ruffian to undo the damage that has been done & Newt may be the guy, with all his flaws to do it.  Please look a little deeper into Newt’s abilties.  I’m going to have to vote for whoever the candidate is, & for the record, I’m a libertarian very old style republican.

  • Anonymous

So he goes after a reporter, the bigger thing here is Newts character  and that is sorely lacking.  Newt always talks about his ties to Reagan, yet in the Reagan diaries, newt was mentioned only once and not in a postive way, newt greaty exaggerates his importance with Reagan.  Santorum, who served in the house with Gringrich, said last night that Newt had an idea a minute but had no discipline, all of Newts colleagues say that he can’t lead.  they say he is irrational, frustrating and unorganized.  Romney has many co-workers coming fort talking about his integrity, his skills and his great leadership.

  • Anonymous

I think you are right, its like a rowdy crowd at a co ck fight.

  • Anonymous

The problem is that Newt is lacking in other areas, he is irrational, no discipline his former colleagues say he is not a leader, so that along with his other character flaws should deter him from being the nominate.

  • Anonymous

What is your point? Who do you support, let me guess. My turn to be cryptic.

  • barbara clemen

To me too, Ryan. Nobody can be this stupid, not day in day out….he’s payed to be an ignorant ass.

  • Anonymous

If you are an old style republican, then you should see that the republican party is not the same,we have been taken over by the tea party and the evangelicals, they are not being too rational in this nomination process, for them to get behind Newt is unconscienable, that is going to get Obama elected.  I believe that they don’t want to back Romney because he is a mormon—he has greater chacter, more business know how, he has a chance against Obama.  I have become disenchanted with the party.

  • Anonymous

    Glenn,

I couldn’t agree with you more. I couldn’t have said it better.  I was appalled that the audience gave Newt a standing ovation. And these people are supposed to be conservatives and evangelicals! Our country is going to hell in a handbasket. God help us all.

God Bless You, Glenn, for all the good that you do. It hasn’t gone unnoticed.

We all have to stick together and pray hard that Obama is defeated in November. Our country is at stake.

I agree with you, there are so many people that have such a “chew them up” mentality.

  • mdkrause

Your Right, I also like Romney, I also think he is a good man.  And I’m sure there are things in his past he would love to forget.

  • Anonymous

Nobody likes moral issues…but isn’t it somewhat a coincidence that the media brings something like this up…..even though it is old, old news…..conveniently right before a vote of something…more or less what happened with Herman Cain when he was showing strength in the primaries.  There’s more to this than we’re seeing and hearing.  Plus, I agree with Newt that this is not the platform for tripe.  I want to hear how these candidates will handle the budget, foreign affairs, Iran, Pakistan, the illegal situation, the debt and deficit, abortion, homosexual issues, etc.; and I frankly don’t give one iota about their past, unless it’s ideological, as in Ron Paul’s view on Jews and Blacks.

Come on Glenn….you know what redemption and forgiveness is!  Mitt Romney’s father was governor of my state, Michigan, and I thought he was okay.  I don’t get the same feeling about Mitt.

  • Anonymous

Glenn, I’ve read every post here today. Something’s going wrong and I hope you recognize this. I listen to you every day and you are making it hard for me to be the hardcore defender I have always been. I’ll keep listening, but the Glenn, Stu, Pat comedy has become strikingly unfunny and comes across as vitriolic. Stop the endless sarcasm and silly voices when it comes to serious issues and listen to your listeners. You’ve done some poignant messages with dolls in the past, but chopping heads off Barbies is unnecessary. We are smart enough to get your point without the antics. I’m also sad to hear you tell a listener to send back your books.

There`s some koo-aid you can`t get sweet enough!  Ask your self this question, ” How would Romney or santorum handled that question”? they both would of folded like a cheap suite!  Glen Beck is in the tank for his Felow(Mormon) Mitt Romney! which is fine, but Quit lying about it to your veiwers Glen! ”   Practice these Principles in all your Affairs”. Glen Beck knows exactly what that means!

  • Anonymous

Hows that Romney kool-aid taste? Your trying too form a judgement of a person you`ve never met before in your life! that goes for both of them! Newt Gingrich has`nt been in the Government for over 15 yr.s!  Romney is not this great moral giant you claim he is! Are you the same person you were 15 yr.s ago? Well, neither is Newt! Romney made millions of dollars gutting out companies! (250,000,000) while shipping Our jobs too China! That`s why he wont show his Taxs`!  As Speeker Of The House, Newt Helped create the Great economy of the 90s and Ballance the budget, 4 years straight, and became one of the most influentual people of his time! I don`t beleive Newt Gingrich could of become that person if he had “Bad Character”, as you put it. I think this Romney narrative just don`t pass the smell test!

  • Anonymous

Balogna they had to ask it! This was old news. And there is forgiveness and redemption which Newt has already openly sought for his indiscretions. This was a deliberate attempted by the mainstream media to effect the South Carolina election just before the polls. They are dispicable and the American people are sick to death of their disingenuous actions. And I am so glad that Newt nailed him! Way to go Newt you are speaking for the American people when you address the elite liberal medias disgusting behavior.

  • Anonymous

You are spot on! Glen Beck keeps telling his veiwers that he`s not for Romney, but he trashs`anyone who`s for Newt, and anyone who supports him!(Newt) I guess It`s two Fellow Mormons` sticking together. But I think It`s Time We tell Glen too stop acting like a Gerry Springer wanna be!

  • Anonymous

I totally agree… how can you trust a person cheating on their spouse, especially one that is
    very ill,  This says alot about a person’s character, questions his ability to commit, his honesty, whether you can trust such a person, if these traits will carry over to his relation to country;
Newt is all theater and drama; we have had enuf with Obama, we need a true conservative such as Santorum , with detailed actionable plan and person of integrity that we can trust
Santorum revealed some of the true record of Newt who is not a true conservative

  • Anonymous

Very well put! I`ll tell you what i think is wrong with him! He`s backing Romney because their both Mormons! and there both Millionairs! GB is rich enough to live anywhere in the world! So, if Romney get`s the nomination, Obama will ABSOLUTELY get 4 more yr.s too finish us off! Now Glen can get out of  here with his rich freinds while the rest of US have to suffer through it! See, he does`nt have too worry about making ends meat like the rest of us, so i guess he can afford too be wrong! Newt Gingrich is not a Saint but i beleive he could be Our Saviour!

  • Anonymous

Newt is a leader. He may be flawed, but he is driven, smart, and has accomplished. I will support Romney if Romney wins the nomination, but Newt can lead, get people to follow, work with the other side to get results when needed. My disappointment comes from repeated instances during the past few months where Glenn has tried to force his views on Bachmann & Santorum on his listeners. Glenn completely overlooked in a nonjudgemental manner all of Santorum’s voting inconsistencies in order to prop him up as the conservative. A blind man could see neither Santorum nor Bachmann are leaders. They are merely soldiers. Few would follow. Neither commands respect although they are decent people, but don’t confuse that with leadership.

I agree with you too.  If Newt hadn’t been out there having his little flings he wouldn’t have to defend himself.  I don’t know why he made such a stink about something that is absolutely true.  he did it nobody else did it for him.  I have no sympathy for someone that obviously has had and I’m not sure he still isn’t out there doing what he does, that has the pathetic immoral behavior of an alley cat.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_ME57WMVMGWWGJN4HY426ZWUWOY Linda

Looks to me the whole bunch, Newt and all his pathetic immoral women are not worth talking about.  I won’t vote for someone with his baggage.  There is much more to do with politics that isn’t good either.  He is just another blow hard Washington politician.

We as a country have lost our morality.  We need to try to get back to it for our children and grandchildren, do we really want our kids/grandkids looking up to someone with these kind of morals that we have seen on display.  I for one DO NOT.

Newt was too busy finding more women to join his harem to concentrate on what he should have been doing.

  • http://twitter.com/2WarAbnVet William R. Bridgeman

Who among us is perfect? I quite realize that Newt has
more than his fair share of personal baggage. I recall, however, that John
Kennedy was an inveterate whoremonger; including affairs with a Soviet spy and
a Mafia moll. Yet he is idolized as one of our great Presidents. Martin Luther
King possessed similar proclivities, yet it’s difficult to find a town or city
in this nation without something named in his honor. Bill Clinton was devoid of
any semblance of honesty or integrity, but he’s a regarded as the senior voice
of the Democrat Party. Jimmy Carter was a confused and totally incompetent
President, yet he is revered as America’s “Elder Statesman”. We can’t begin to
sum-up the myriad personal failings of that distinguished “Liberal Lion”, and
    drunken libertine Ted Kennedy.

      As I said
nobody’s perfect, but at least until the advent of the Obama “Chicago Thug/
Marxist” Presidency we seemed to muddle along despite the occasional lapse.
Perhaps we will again if we replace him with any Republican.

  • Anonymous

Gee! you must be talking about the Gerry Springer show, the far left sit coms of gay couples shoving their life styles down Our throats! you mean stuff like that? or looking up to a president who will teach them all about food stamps! You might want to jump out of that Norman Rockwell painting your living in and  by the way, I challenge you to tell us(Newt Supporters)  ONE thing you have personally witnessed Newt Gingrich do that was quote: “Immorral” And not something that Glen Beck “says” happened over 10 yr.s ago in someone you`ve never even met befores` life! You don`t become a Speaker Of The House Of Representitives by being Immoral and reckless! Remember this, Those same people from the past that are dogging him,at one time, loved him enough too vote him in as Speaker Of The House! that`s the only way too get that job.

  • http://www.facebook.com/bruce.brotnov Bruce A. Brotnov

Glenn, you are so missing the point on the ovation – it was for standing up to the media and you seem to overlook that as you act like the liberal media in their love affair with Obama and you with Romney. I could understand that if you hadn’t sided with conservative Michelle Bachman (who didn’t have a prayers chance – mostly for belittling other candidates) and yet when she dropped you did not support Santorium or Perry of similar faith and convictions. But then maybe that was the plan all along to disguise secret support for fellow Mormon. I love your program Glenn, but you sound like a born again Christian one day with belief in Jesus, God the Son, and the next day you are depending on “works” like a Mormon. Which is it?

It’s not hard to fiure out.  The right is finally saying to the press that if you don’t vet obama and come clean with his college records and frankly I want to see his passport records and I would love to see his mothers, then any questions of the right of a personal nature are off limits.

  • landofaahs

He does the same with Ron Paul.  Then later he can say in his folksey”Gee I guess I’m left with no other choice”.  He has Pat and Stu(pid) there to stop him from going off the edge.  He has done it before.  Remember when the Gov of Alabama I believe it was.  The Gov. said that Christians are not brothers of the muslims.  Glenn began  to chastise the Gov.’s comments saying that we are all brothers.  Then one of his crew stopped him because I think he feared it would bring up too many questions about the strange beliefs about mormonism.  They believe lucifer and Jesus were brothers you know.  By that reference, we are all then brother according to their belief.

  • landofaahs

Mitt has no balls.  He uses these groups who are supposed to be unaffilliated with his campaign to do his dirty work.  At least Newt goes after them himself.  Romney is slime-ball material in my book.

Character is also measured in not flip flopping.  Romney changes his stand on abortion, gun rights, global warming and Romney care when it benefits his situation.  Ron Paul at least sticks to his guns even when it is unpopular.  That is character.  Anyone can talk out of both sides of their mouth like Mitt.

Dear Glenn…we’ve read several of your excellent books, and were there at 8/28/2010 in DC for an event we could only describe as God-inspired. Sadly, lately on your radio program in the morning on our way to work, we have had to turn it off many times for a few reasons: 1) you and your wonderfully funny and talented cohorts tend to go over the top with silliness, often stepping all over each other, and saying things facetiously that could confuse your listeners (especially the not so informed ones). It wastes airtime that could be used better in these times, 2) you say you want to reach and rally conservatives, people of faith, and yet some of your language is less than commendable (Ephesians 5:4 might help).  3) Your barbs against Newt Gingrich are beneath any Christian. He admits to failures and tells of a change of heart and God’s forgiveness. Are you now holding the stones others wanted to throw at your for YOUR past sins? Hope you’ll pray about that.

Have you met Mitt or Gingrich, yeah, I thought the tea party and the so called christians didn’t want a politician  You are full of cra p, Romney did not gut companies, he went into the companies to make them profitable, how much money does he get if companies don’t make it, they put their money into it.  A steel mill (steel Dymanics) in Indiana is a big steel mill in the U.S. they have greated a lot of jobs due to Romney and Bain Capital, Staples started with one store when B ain and Romney came in, they now have around 2000 stores in 26 countries, they have 90,000 jobs., in its early day Bain took over Accuride, wheelmaking unit of Firestone Tires, that too was profitable.

Newt balanced only two years and not quite two, in 2000 and 2001, the budget was balanced, Newt was gone.  If he was so great, why did his fellow republicans boot him out for etics violation, Newt claims they were all dismissed, then let him produce it so we can see what those violations were, he wants everybody else to disclose, his turn.   It is Newt that stinks.

  • Anonymous

Fine, I  have his book.   I want Romney because he can turn this ecomony around and work to solve our problems, you are nit picking, I could cite you a whole slew of stuff that Gingrich was for, a heck of a lot more than Romney, Newt is unstable as well.

Glenn, I don’t know what it is about Newt that you despise so much, but it is really clouding up your judgement. I used to love watching you on FNC, but you’ve lost it in the past 6 months. I wouldn’t care if you were a Romney supporter, but the fact that you would support Ron Paul over Newt tells me all I need to know about the new Glenn Beck. Have a nice life, I’m outta here.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Kevin-OHara/100000042450654 Kevin O’Hara

If I recall, Glenn once found himself on the floor in fetal position, yet found God, turned himself around and dedicated his life to the American people.  Newt says he found God, asked for forgiveness and converted. Right now he is the only one showing he has the strength and conviction to take on the purveyors of deception. He knows Washington inside out, has brilliant ideas and the experience to get things done. Of the other three, one will allow the country to be destroyed, one will continue many of the policies we got the last three years and the last would probably do a good job but will never get past Obama’s machine. Newt is the ONLY chance we have to save this country at this time. Love him or loath him, plug your nose and check the box.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_U23HOTUKN5BELIEV4NB5GUFBLM Josh

I am becoming where my support for you Glenn is dwindling.  You are no reporting the facts, and although you have always been over the top (which I respected), I always thought you would tell it like it is or was.
Newt didnt scold him for asking the question alone, he scolded him for beggining the republican debate with the question when we have alot more we need to talk about.
Are you telling me, or anyone for that matter, that there is not something in your past that is terrible, or something that you may or may have dont wrong.  I expect this from liberals but not from you.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_U23HOTUKN5BELIEV4NB5GUFBLM Josh

Man, Ron Paul is a little crazy.  He had some people fooled, and still a few until people really started to hear what he wanted to do.  You must have not heard Paul in any debates lately.  That is a crazy man.
And as sad is that is, I would vote for him before keeping Obama another 4 years.

I concur.  Newt is as bad as Obama and strictly voting for a candidate who can only beat Obama is suicide.  I actually want somebody different than the least of the evils and who will reduce government and truly make a difference.

    wow Glen,
I know you don’t like Newt, or you think he’s a progressive,,, but you are a progressive too, not in the political sense, but in the media sense.. starting your own station (which I applaud you on), looking to network together and grow different movements you have in mind… isn’t that progressive?  Your a big idea’s guy too, just like Newt..
Alright, lets go back..  they brought up the “cheating” question as the first question of the presidential debate, and everyone see’s what there trying to do.. everyone except you, just watch how the crowd responds because they all could see what the media was doing it was so obvious pulling into town on the night of the debate with this “new” story,, that wasn’t new at all,,, everyone knows Gingrich’s baggage,, everyone.. this story was very “old” news.. yet they spun it to be new news.. and wow.. just like Herman Cain,, those ladies just needed to broadcast this right when they are up in the polls .. wonder why that is??   Could it be a plan?? Everyone knew what was going on and Gingrich (who does care about this) angrily said what he did.. anyone would.. Come on now.  take the blinders off.

Good luck on the “grandios” ideas and plans you have.. I’m voting for a guy that has big ideas as well..

Listen you retard. Ron Paul’s foreign policy will be implemented one way or the other, with or without Ron Paul. The bond market will see to that. Debt will force us out od our stupidity. Watch and learn boy.

  • http://www.sidewalksolutions.co.uk Alex

The crowd reacted to the way Newt handled himself against a calculated question which was aimed to embarrass Newt not to help voters decide who would make the best president. Be careful when you are being critical of someone who has sinned and is now trying to do his best to lead people in a better way. C’mon Glenn are there not a lot of similarities between you an Newt?

Without vision, the people will perish.

Let’s all be united and get rid of this hopeless and dangerous president, maybe Newt can do that, be a one term president, make his mark, save his sole and put his feet up. At east we will have gotten rid of this awful president.

If Mr. Gingrich has repented and all that repentance entails, then that’s all he can do.

Perhaps people are becoming sick and tired of the scandalizing of each others sins. Perhaps people want to stop throwing the mud and let the healing begin.

We are all God’s creation and we are all a “work in progress”. All of us. None of us are in heaven yet. If you’re about solutions Mr. Beck throw the mud on ideas, not God’s children.

  • totustuos

I totally agree with Bruce Brotnov. I thought I had a good reason to listen and watch Beck’s program and thought I discovered a sincere Christian broadcaster until I subtly noticed his bias against Christian Catholics. Why is Glenn Beck and his cohorts try to be very judgemental about Newt’s old baggage and continuously bashing him despite Newt’s remorseful mea culpa? Does Beck not know how to forgive? Did Beck thinks he is perfect? Didn’t God forgive King David’s adultery with Bethsabee? Didn’t Ronald Reagan also got divorced? Wasn’t St. Agustine, a former adulterer, became one of the greatest theologian of all time?  When Mitt Romney attacked Newt with his negative ad, why didn’t Beck say something about it?  There is a pattern it seems with Beck subtly favoring his less conservative Mormon “Elder” amigo, Mitt. The Mormons are known for very strong fraternity within their church so I won’t be surprised if Glenn bashes Newt in favor of Mitt.

I agree with Rick Perry, who  stated in his speech when he suspended his campaign for President, that he knows we all make mistakes in our lives God allows us His redemptive grace.
Who are we to “cast stones” at someone who says he’s changed his ways and moved on and now has learned from his mistakes and experiences and is asking for the chance to yes, have a now Grandiose position in our country, with large ideas and great expectations for what he believes is fully qualified to become our next President of the United States of America.

We need someone who is strong, meek, now weak, knowing that with God is for us, who can be against us?  We already know that the now President is misguided by bowing down to a false God, he shows this to us as he travels to the Mideast as he greets their countries radical tyrant rulers.  This is not how the President of the United States of America should be acting and actually saying to them, “The United States of America is NO LONGER A CHRISTIAN NATION,” I watched and heard him say this with his own voice as it was shown over and over on tv.

WE MUST UNITE as a CHRISTIAN NATION, get the 40 to 50 percent of Christians who are not even registerred to vote, REGISTERRED and educated if they do not understand the dire circumstances our country is now in, economically, socially, being brainwashed that “global warming….environmental protections….green everything at all costs, is in truth a minor problem compared to the JOBLESSNESS, BANKRUPTCIES, FAMILIES BREAKING UP, BECOMING A WELFARE COUNTRY, BECOMING DEPENDENT ON OUR GOVERNMENT TO FEED US FOOD AND INFORMATION (socialist propaganda), NIBBLING AWAY AT OUR RIGHTS AND LIBERTIES, bite by bite…..PASSING A LAW THAT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT CAN PICK UP AND HOLD ANY CITIZEN AGAINST THEIR WILL WITHOUT DUE PROCESS OF OUR COURT SYSTEM FOR WHATEVER LENGTH OF THEM THEY WILL IT TO BE, AND NOW,
ALLOWING THE SUPREME COURT TO DETERMINE IF OBAMACARE, WHICH IS ALMOST 3,000 PAGES OF GARBAGE TO TAKE OUR RIGHTS TO CHOOSE OUR OWN HEALTH CARE POLICIES AWAY FROM CITIZENS OF THE USA AND EVEN STATING THAT PEOPLE OVER 70 YEARS OF AGE WILL NOT BE COVERED FOR LIFE SAVING SURGERIES THAT THEY MAY NEED (guess they are too old to be worthy of treated humainly)……PEOPLE WAKE UP BEFORE WE LOOSE OUR RIGHT TO VOTE AND END  UP AS SOCIALIST SLAVES TO THE POWERS WHO WANT TO BE!  THE TIME IS NOW…..LET’S ROLL!!!!!!!

I pray to God daily that His will be done and not mine, that the President He wants to be in office
is the winner this November.   ANY of the Republican candidates are better than a second term of Obama.  Personally I think Gingrich can out debate and outsmart Obama, although Obama’s billions of dollars worth of ads, paid off Judas’s to lie with a straight face while being interevewed by liberal and predjudised reporters and news media,  would make Jesus look bad
if He was Obama’s running mate. CHRISTIAN CITIZENS, take your heads out of the sand before it too late!  If you are decided, undecided, whaterver, still, ask God for guidance, listen and please act accordingly.  It’s not too late yet!

So Glenn starts out as a horrible person, repents and turns his life around, and becomes the paragon and arbiter of virtue. Newt starts out as a horrible person, repents and turns his life around, and Glenn says “once a dirt bag always a dirt bag”? How exactly does this work?

  • Lioness

Do you mean “pious bologna”? Gotta try that sandwich. Still gives me a chuckle!

I’m not a Newt fan, but “IF” Newt eins tomorrow, you can use this.

It bothered me that Glenn slammed Newt for his past weaknesses, but seemed to totally forget his own. He wants people to look past his because he is reformed? Hmmmmm.

I would have to agree… Except, Beck’s not seeking the office… He’s almost acting as a conscious rather than a candidate even though he holds such a great deal of influence over such a large audience…

  • w. Parker

Glenn, your remarks have taken a new low in immaturety.  The paragraph looks as though a child of 12 wrote it.  You’re obsessed with newt.  Jesus Christ could appear and “knight” him with a golden sword and i swear you’d still be bashing him

  • Lioness

I would like to thank you on behalf of America for re electing Obama!

Love the insults. I now have half a brain because I believe that a someone can be a great politician and terrible in their personal life. Funny how great family men have not done well as leaders all through out history. Now we our supposed to be concerned? How has Carter, Bush, and Obama the great family men done for ya so far?

  • Anonymous

    Sandie,
Beck got a divorce because of his addiction, not infidelity. You see no difference between the two?

  • Sandie

But, the way he presented it was not just as a conscience. He did it in a belittling way. Even though Beck isn’t running for office, he is using Newts past against him while he is a reformed man and holds himself up to the light differently. He admits his bad past, but claims redemption for himself.

I didn’t say anything about cheating or divorce. I was speaking of their weaknesses. Newt’s was cheating, Becks was drugs and alcohol. I know he was divorced because of his addictions. So he reformed, as did Newt, but one counts and the other doesn’t?

I feel sorry for you and your lack of critical thinking and common sense. However, that is to be expected for supporters of Newt Gingrich. No matter what he does, he’s the one to support. Instead of sitting in a couch and watching debates, which is the only thing that Gingrich has going for him, you had best off get up and do a research on all candidates. It’s all about VOTING RECORD and whether one can back it up and one’s actions. Well, I did the homework for you. He would be a disaster for our great country. The Great Glenn Beck team’s massive research and the broadness of their sources are flat out unmatched. He’s one the very few influential true conservatives left out there who aren’t afraid to tell the truth even if it means to hack their audience. Fox News didn’t appreciate that, and Fox News continues on their way to a very little if any credibility. But that’s another story. I want Obama and his administration out of our White House and will support a GOP nominee, but the idea of having Gingrich as the nominee terrifies me.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Elisabeth-Clark/1743956674 Elisabeth Clark

The press needs a good reality check.  I would have cheered with the rest of the crowd.   It’s obvious the media does not want Gingrich to run.  He’s taken his numerous hits for his personal decisions before.
I do not believe Romney can win against Obama, Santorum is not assertive enough, and Ron Paul is simply too old.    I can only hope Gingrich has gained some wisdom from his past mistakes.
I am an Independent.  I understand that politics is a dirty business.  But there’s still a twinge to seek a hero at this time.  Right now?  I am just not seeing it.

    Well said.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Karel-Komarek/100000243677155 Karel Komarek

That’s a great news. I definitely side with the Great  Glenn Beck because I and he aren’t about to give our support to a fraud, cheat, deceiver, phony, counterfeit conservative with a crooked character. I know that you’re smitten by Newt Gingrich’s great verbal communication skills and rhetoric just like those in the audience. They’re too lazy to do a research on their own because it’s much more convenient to watch a debate at the comfort of home rather than spend exhausting hours in front of the computer trying to find the truth from multiple sources. I admit, it’s very exhausting because I’ve done it on all the candidates. The audiences response tells a lot about the character of many fellow Americans as they simply brush off the moral character of somebody who is running for POTUS and thus will be representing our country in the world. You’re an adult and you’re responsible for your actions and you’ll cast your vote for whoever you like, but uninformed and misinformed voters like yourself upset me.

  • Anonymous

Why do you keep bashing Newt?  By your own admission you used to be a falling down drunk.  I’ve read statistics that 1 in 3 marriages end in divorce and, I’m assuming, that some type of “cheating” is usually involved.  Newt says he has moved on, joined a church, and is happily married.  I believe you when you say you have changed yourself for the better and don’t consider your past when you speak passionatly about your (and our countries) future.  I have to give Newt that same consideration and you should to.  He will probably get every vote from people who have lived thru a bitter divorce and you should prepare yourself in the event that occurs because you may lose supporters yourself.

I am rapidly losing my respect for ALL news media.
Foxnews will not talk about any other candidate except ROMNEY and talk about
others as they relate to Romney.
Cavuto said “you can damn well bet I would have led with that question and
risked that response.”  Cavuto also said Gingrich was free to
“say he has made peace with God for past transgressions.”  Well,
that was Santorum, not Gingrich confirming assumptions.

What Gingrich said was that, while his ex-wife alleges one thing, his two
daughters have gone on record stating that it never happened, as have
associates of Gingrich.  He did not dodge the question but he did not answer it meekly and shamefacedly as required by FoxNews, CNN, and, apparently, Beck.

Cavuto criticized Gingrich for not holding back “on a certain Democrat
President’s transgressions.”  So, to Cavuto discredited gossip is the
same as lying under oath with forensic evidence to prove it.

I came to Glen Beck’s site because I thought he was a man who gets to the heart
of things who values the truth and I get the same rant.  ‘Newt cheated on
his wife.’ That is NOT what received the standing ovation.

The statement that got Gingrich a standing ovation is this:
” I think that the destructive,
vicious, negative nature of much of the news media makes it hard to govern in
this country, harder to attract decent people to run for office, and I am
appalled that you would begin a presidential debate on a topic like that.
    “
To OPEN this debate with salacious
unsubstantiated  gossip shows a lack of
respect for everyone in the viewing audience.  It makes a mockery of our
electoral process.  We’re on the brink of economic collapse, the middle
east is falling country by country into extremist Muslim radical control, our
borders are porous, our educational system failing…. and this is THE most
important topic for Cavuto and CNN.  GROW UP!

South Carolina voters are not ignorant of Gingrich’s history and assuming this would titillate them and boost ratings is just…. insulting.  All that was lacking in King’s question was a Beavis and Butthead giggle.

Since Newt said amnesty I have not been a fan but he did get alot done in Congress for someone that can’t lead. The best being welfare reform, which obama changed his 1st day in office. No longer are their any requirements for work, no drugs in public housing and no “strange” men living in their HUD housing. Goes right along with obama’s plan for our country.

  • Anonymous

That really surprised me about Ann.  Rush though, has it right;  he knows a fighter when he sees one.

I’m not judging him. Heaven and Hell are not my call, but I can assess his record and  I  find it wanting.

Newt was right for being offended. That question was nothing new since the lame stream media was working on a 60 minutes kind of special to allow Newts ex-wife to present her lop sided story to destroy Newts political life, for nothing more than revenge condured up by the left, just like the sleezy lawyer (AlBright) from Calif that went nationwide to tear down Herman Cain and Gov Browns opponent in the Calif governors race. It is possible that the only candidate that has the experience to pull us out of the communist quagmire that is wrecking our country is Newt Gingrich. Now this disgruntled ex-wife is no doubt being handsomely paid by the democrats or Soros to denigrate Newt who stated on several occasions that what the ex-wife was saying is completely false. This is a case of he said she said with no proof, so when is it ok to condemn a person for something they did not do and do not admit to. Does it make sense to anybody that Newt would tell this nutjob that he wanted an open marriage so he could have a sex backup. The Muslims under Sharia law can have four wives but Newt is a good christian. He may be the only conservative that can not only beat Obama but also bring our nation together under the umbrella of the U. S. Constitution. Steve King from CNN along with MSNBC and CBS are a bunch of left leaning socialists and gear their programs to protect Obama and his corruptocrats and folks that is very dangerous for our country. Its amazing to me that ted Kennedy would cause the death of a women at chaddewicki and Clinton was using the oval office for a bordello and these men were not crucified by the lame stream media and they both went on to enjoy successful careers. When Obama was running did anyone in the media ever want to vet this guy to find out who he hung around with in college or what his personal life was all about? Fair and balanced is not part of the socialist agenda and WE THE PEOPLE must vote in Nov.

  • Anonymous

True. But take a look at that link above. That’s what I was talking about. Not the big ten.

  • Anonymous

No…Newt Gingrich did not get a standing ovation because of cheating.  He got a standing ovation because of the manipulation of the press into telling half truths.  We are sick and tired of being lied to and manipulated…that is why we stood up.

    Now…on another front:

Clear Channel Communications and Premier Radio Networks was bought by
Bain in 2008 and majority stockholder is Romney. FOX News, Rush,
Hannity, Glen Beck, Laura and other conservative radio hosts have
contracts with these networks. I would say that this has been well
thought out since Romney planned to run for President again.

  • Anonymous

Sure they can be. But why would you take that chance? Why would you knowingly elect a person to keep his oath of office when he can’t keep his wedding vows? Your word is all you have.

I get the same impression. We all choose to opine our own thoughts and sometimes prejudices. What one sees in a debate may not be the same as everybody else. The audience here cheered for Newt because he stood up to King’s rediculous questioning, not because of his supposed mistreatment of his wife. However, it is easy to voice one’s own opinion as to how one envisions the situation.

After three years in the Whitehouse and an election coming Nov 2012, it doesn’t seem all that important to try and get Obama to cough up his personal records. You must admit he has been very defensive and in a state of denial about letting people know who he really is. WE THE PEOPLE already know he is prone to deceive and has on more than one occasion outright lied to the nation about the direction our country is being driven to. It is despicable for a President to demonize other people when he promised to bring us together as a nation. He told us he was a president for all people, how is it that he is a President strictly for the socialist democrats, the illegal aliens, the gays, the unions regardless of what most Americans want.  The crowning catastrophy is his continual assault on the free market system which has made us the greatest nation  on earth. Its not a race thing, its an economic thing and if we like to continue eating regularly, we need to get Obama and the socialist democrats out of office. That is job#1 for Nov 2012 to avoid a nasty scenario.

I think that 2008 most Americans were put under phsycological anesthesia after the Country was suckerpunched by Barney Frank, Chris Dodd,, Harry Reid,Chuck Shummer and the rest of the Radical Liberal Crew that Orchestrated the housing Market colapse. In the mist of the confusion, these leftest Radicals then started the propoganda machine( Full Throttle) and” greased” up Obama so he could slip through the cracks of Our” Vetting System” , The rest is History! I really do like Paul, but I’m not against looking at others. The wars that we are engaged in is what concerns me. I don’t think our troops well being is put at the forefront like it should be. It seems like our government is so corrupt that and our boys end up paying for it.

    RE NEWT’S BACKLASH:

To Bruce B: (and others who seem to be missing the Point.)

Actually, you are both right in pointing out that he was indeed standing up to the Media but he was ALSO very cleverly attempting to “excuse and/or defend” himself for cheating on his wife..He was effective in temporarily silencing the Commentator which, at the same time, distracted us away from the real point: Cheating.  Nevertheless, It still doesn’t make cheating OK.  AND …it was only a temporary distraction.  He’s still carrying the “Baggage” for doing so.

Two, WRONGS never did equal one RIGHT!

  • Anonymous

So what if Newt is divorced.  Who can say for sure that the wife was not the cause.
Is divorce a sin? No, it is an ordinance given by God.  He may hate it, but he does allow it.

  • Anonymous

Now that all of Newts indiscretions are out, maybe we can start talking about his congressional  record and his business history.

Is this what it is all about, don’t vote for the mormon?  If that is what is going on, I am dropping the hypocritcal republican party, the dems aren’t so hateful about ones religion.  I have been a republican for many years, but this party is so full of haterd toward a religion, yet they back the worse un-christian creep to come along, Palin practially endorsing him makes me fed up with this sanctimous party.

To:  Landofaahs and anyone else who might be interested:  RE: OBAMA’S RECORDS & HISTORY:

FYI:  ABOUT A YEAR AGO ON YOU TUBE, I found a film of B.O. ..(which was obviously made a long time ago).

The film showed B.O. lecturing to Law Students at Harvard.  In the Film B.O.  said .. very  proudly…  ”I am not American.  I was born in Kenya.”

Obviously, it was made during the time he first became a Teacher of Law at Harvard and he was just sharing with Students what made him proud of his Roots.

Anyway, it was available on You Tube for at least a year.

Well … during the current speculation that he is not American-Born the film has disappeared.

If you go to You-Tube and do a Search you will find the spot where it was and it will say it is unavailable.  This means that WE the People do not have the privacy we deserve and are being scrutinized on what we say and do on the Web..  I say this because I shared this same info. with some friends not so long ago, and, after revisiting You Tube again, I discovered that the Film was gone.

DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU BUT FROM MY FRAME OF REFERENCE, AMERICA IS IN VERY DEEP DOO DOO IF WE HAVE A FOREIGNER FOR A PRESIDENT WHO HAS MURKY PLANS  FOR OUR COUNTRY.

NO! But Two Wrights made an airplane!  You are assuming the story is true! also, you failed to mention that Newt denied that it happened! When are people going to wake the hell up and realize that that was a lie straight out of the Obama camp!

  • Anonymous

No. You were not listening well. He did not deny it. He only distracted it … And anyway, his cheating is well known.

I don’t give a CR__ what he does, in private, frankly, and neither should you but I do care what he does in Public b/cuz our Kids ned good Role Models. I am aware that Men are not monogamous by nature but that is only a reason and never will be an excuse.

What bigotry Bruce.  I’m sorry Mormons don’t share your exact beliefs.. but it is because of your small minded bigotry that Romney can’t even go on the Glenn Beck show… the pin headed pretend to be Christians all cry “conspiracy” Mormons are the devil.  So unlike anything I read in the New Testament.  Until Glenn believes exactly as you do…I guess we just can’t trust him.  Secrets secrets secrets… ugggg.

You are so right! And, I worry for the younger generations. And although I find comfort in my Religion I am not at peace where our Core Values as a Nation, now are. Seems our Schools are falling apart as far as teaching integrity and sound Morals. eg… Teachers sleeping with Students. etc….

Arizona is a Mess with it’s Borders being challenged on a daily basis. Anyway, I do not have faith in this President’s values & I doubt his allegiance to our great Country. Why? Because, as previously mentioned, I saw that YouTube Film which really rattled me. He actually admitted to being born in Kenya. I do not think, at that time, the Presidency was even on his Agenda … otherwise he would not have mentioned it.

    Thank you for your comments.

I was thinking the same thing, are people even looking at his political record? How much he sided with Pelosi, Clinton and the rest of the democrats and was pushed out of office by his own party? The Washington Post deemed him as the Obama of the GOP on the Iraq war. Romney is more likely to reform the tax code, immigration, education, healthcare and foreign policy then Gingrich. It’s absolutely appalling how Gingrich has received this surge by people that are blindly considering him despite his deceptive political, moral and ethical track record.

Newt apaligized for his mistakes and became a chrirstian. when a person becomes a christian changes them for the better. Newt is not the newt i remember from back then. Marianne is still the same women she was back then. back then she wanted Newt to forget about his children for just her. Now she is just as vindictive. to distroy him. so put him down to makes you the same as his ex wife. Newt can win this against Obama. and turn this country around . I have been a fan of yours but I donot under stand now what you really stand for. MAY GOD BLESS YOU

  • Anonymous

Yes it was about cheering for standing up against the drive by media, however do you think the drive by learned their lesson all of the sudden from Newt’s antics. The obvious answer is NO, it only throws fuel on the fire for the Drive by to continue to throw those questions at Newt. The drive by sees Newt is frustrated hearing these things, and that is blood in the water for the drive by. Like sharks more and more will show up to attack Newt all the while defending their messiah. To even think this is about one religion or another is proposterous, no one is focusing on that, not even the drive by. What the focus has been is to turn the republican canidates against eachother and tear them down, all the while taking the focus off of Obama. It’s not good and the canidates running that can’t see this will continue to play the game for the drive by’s and the only outcome is the drive by wins and their messiah stays another four.

  • Anonymous

Can anyone see this is the plan of the left. Cause division among the republicans and the canidates that are running. A house divided can not stand, and with the canidates continuing to play this game from the left the longer the right stays in the lefts court. The right will lose and the division will be the reason. The only way the right can win this is to unite with eachother, not tear down eachother for their petty differences, and to start focusing on Obama. Bring the ball back into the rights court and force the drive by media to play by your rules. Refuse to tear down eachother and speak the truth at hand, the current President will destroy this nation and the constitution. Can we as Americans tolerate that happening, Unite Republican canidates and defeat by unity.

  • lorin gilbert

The point wasn’t that cheating is ok. Neither the focus of the question nor what Newt did was acceptable. Putting his ex-wife on TV was like trying to air dirty laundry on a reality show.
Newt has his personal issues from the past and if he has changed as a person we can’t know for sure but I do know I am not the one to judge.

  • Anonymous

The audience cheered because they are just plain blockheads, they are the ones who watch all of these stupid shows, there are so many things for the candidates to talk about, for these idiots to cheer over a pompous Newt is a sorry state of affairs.  Newt will never be president, a third party will take him out, it won’t be my fault but you people who are voting for a dangerous man (Newt).

  • Anonymous

Maybe you should watch it again, Newt responded too John king and I quote: “THAT STORY IS FALSE” unquote. i looked up the word FALSE and it says, quote: NOT TRUE, unquote. does`nt sound like any admission that i`ve ever heard! you say his cheating is well known like you grew up with the guy!

I agree, I don’t understand this “I forgive you crap”, if Newt hits the red button, and says “I am sorry”, we are suppposed to say, “well, he said he was sorry and we forgive him”, something is wrong with this picture.

Takes more then just to say I am sorry, Glen walked the walk, Newt isn’t, he is just talking, he also is nuts.

Newt will never be president, the republicans in congress are very concerned, they believe they will not be elected if Newt is the nominee, they are of the mind that Newt is unstable, I guranantee that there will be a third party, we cannot have this man as president.

Have you ever in your life heard of, read, or experienced redemption, forgiveness, or repentance?
You are holding Newt to a standard that you are not able to satisfy!
Judge not lest ye be judged. He who is without fault, let him cast the first stone. Ever heard those scriptures? Guess not!
I am a living, breathing, walking, working example of the redemptive power of Christ. I would not be able to type these words to you if Jesus had not redeemed me, forgiven me, and given me the choice to accept salvation. Not to mention how much of an alcoholic/drug user I was 15+ years ago. I should be dead!
The point is people can change and God is still perfectly capable of refining those that are willing to be molded to His will.
Furthermore, WHO CARES if Newt is progressive? Who cares if Mitt is moderate? Who cares if Santorum is a tiny bit shy of the level of executive experience most Americans desire in a candidate?
ALL of the media should be completely objective, put the information out for the public to see/hear as it becomes available, and deliver it in a civilized manner without insulting, bloviating, and injecting pure opinion based on twisting or skewing the words of any particular candidate.
I find your coverage of Newt ridiculous and far below the minimum acceptable standard of professionalism.
I guess it sucks for me that the only station my wonderful radio in my truck will tune into happens to carry your show on my way to work every morning. lol
That’s ok! Hannity and Schnitt tend to balance it out and move the status bar from absurd to reasonable on the drive back home. :)

As a Republican, I was sick at the way South Carolina cheered Gingrich after his blast back at John King.  Sure, the question was ill-timed – but that S.C. crowd completely let pass the notion that before them stood – not just a good debater – but a serial adulterer, liar and cheat.  I thought S.C. was full of “values voters”.

Do you DARE have your EX. be interviewed by the mainstream that hates you? I don’t like cheating husbands or alcholics { my dad was both} He was, however a good father that loved this country. Greetings all Paulbots – - Newt took SC with a land fall!!!  Some circuits are gonna be blown tonight!
    Obviously, the best man won

  • w. Parker

Pardon me JoAnn, Newt asked God for forgiveness.  Newt Did NOT get his Ex to be interviewed.  ABC prodded her, begged her and paid her to do so.  If your father can ask for forgiveness and and you say received it, then why can’t Newt?   Most women are “taken” from his infidelity.  Statistics show that mostly women initiate divorce in america.

  • w. Parker

You must be female, obviously.  One value, a christian value, is highly respected, and that is forgiveness.

  • Lioness

Like the comment except you have to specify, many real WOMEN (not females) voted for Newt.

  • Lioness

I can’t confirm weather or not this is true, but you are making a great point either way. No one knows the truth about the other side. Women can be vindictive too. It’s very possible to run into two road blocks before finding real love. No one really knows the truth, and does it really matter? We’re looking for a president, not a minister for goodness sakes!

  • w. Parker

Exactly right, it’s time for the republicans to pull together and get behind Newt because he’s going to take Florida too and you can at that time conclude Newt is our next nominee.  Then it’s obummer or Newt

  • Lioness

Relax. Actually I think JoAnn was referring to Glenn:)

  • Lioness

(Major sarcasm here!!!)Values?? What, do you mean Obama has questionable values? But he’s been a FAITHFUL husband and father? How could he possibly be unscrupulous? When referring to CHARACTER Obama should be just about infallible!!!

HE IS A BIG GOVERNMENT PROGRESSIVE! My god people is this an alternate universe? Are all the people I’ve been aligning with myself really just racists who marched against Obama because of his skin color? If Newt wins I will consider myself duped by the tea party and extract myself from political debate. It would prove to me everyone on both sides voters and politicians alike are liars and hypocrites.

Newt is NOT CONSERVATIVE. He has flipped more g’damn flop then Romney ever has. Paul Ryan’s tiny lowering of % of increaseis “right wing social engineering”. He has been consistently advocating the FEDERAL government (read: not a single state w/ overwhelming Democrst majorities) mandating an individual healthcare mandate by penalty of law upto and including 2011! Jesus Christ!

  • Anonymous

Well it isn’t supposed that he’s mistreated his MANY wives. Hes admited that and “asked for forgiveness”. So the open marriage isnt a stretch. The trashing of Romney for being a mainstream businessman Mormon in a monogamous marriage by fans of a wannabe poligomist like Gingrich is absurd to me.

  • Lioness

Ron Paul has always been alright to me and if nominated, I’d have no problem voting for him. But unfortunately it seems unlikely at this point. But consider that Newt like Paul are currently comfortable in their current lives (neither are spring chickens ya know) and have no reason to run for president unless they really feel they can be of service to this country. Newt almost seemed an unwitting candidate in the beginning, I’m sure he knew the consequences, yet still felt a duty to this country. I commend him for this, his strength in handling this onslaught so far has been impressive. His record of results alone makes him very capable of navigating through the mess created by our current administration. I’m absolutely certain Romney is going to leave Obama care up to the states (sucks to be in a liberal one) and Santorum is a mini Newt.  That just leaves, well….. Newt.

The best debater won. I wouldn’t give him the best man award.

My take is,  there are a lot of people in Congress afraid of Newt.  Why?    Because it would be payback time.  As a Washington insider, I bet he knows what, why and who is responsible for the garbage that goes on and they are afraid.   He has his enemies and no doubt he plans to clean house.

  • Anonymous

That particular skill that Newt has to put the media in their place was gratifying to witness!  It’s really what we want to see from Romney about his taxes.  Hiding sheepishly looks like he has something to hide.  Show it, be proud and give them a Newt moment.  Sandorum could use a little Newt attitude himself.  It shows strength not weakness.

Wanda Sykes was on Jay Leno and she made references to things said about Obama she didn’t like.  This goes to show how out of touch hollywood is.   Wanda took umbrage to the GOP saying Obama is the food stamp king.   Statistics show he is-there are more people on FS on Obamas watch than any other president.

Newt Gingrich has consistantly denied that accusation! over 50% of Americans have gone through a divorce! including me ! 99.9% of them are messy! and usually stay that way for a long time! So i think it is perfectly reasonable for “most” people too assume that Newts X Wife is still scorn and probably jealous of Newts` former and most people see what she did as lashing out! What is Interasting too Me though, is, Obama does`nt get nothing near this amount of ridicule and public scorn and there is a MOUNTAIN of PHYSICAL EVIDENCE  pointing too his suspect PAST ,PRESENT AND FUTURE  BEHAVOIR !! Do you really want to know why Newt won in SC?  Follow me on this for a bit.  First Newt tapped into a voice of angst against an angry media who has a double standard for conservatives and allows libs to get by with Bill ayers, and hiding personal info which the people need to see.
Second, people are so tired of the of the “hammering me or mine” because we are not perfect.
Can anyone understand that these people are willing to overlook bad behavior by an individual or group of people because of an unfairness which has been continued for years?
In other words, there is an attitude of I dont’ care anymore.  They are saying now   “I am going to support even that persons  bad behavior because of a greater unjust action..

If this makes any sense to you at all, then maybe we can see why people on the fence in the Middle east resort to supporting nut jobs like the Taliban.  It’s called”RESPECT”

  • Anonymous

It is Sunday now, and Republicans/Conservatives have had a few hours to let the SC primary sink in.
It must be difficult for many to watch what is happening to both their party and their image.
    1.  During the debate the nation watched and listened to a crowd that cheered gingrich when confronted with the “open marriage” question.  I, as well as other Americans, don’t really care if he asked for an “open marriage”.  What bothers Americans is the fact that Newt cheated on two wives (one while she was in the hospital) and doesn’t seem to show any remorse or accept the blame for his multiple acts of adultery.  Conservatives/Republicans pride themselves on having strong/true Christian values and attack homosexuals and Pro-Choice with quotes from the Bible and self righteous conviction.  Now, the Conservatives are showing their true colors with their vote.
    2.  The tea party as well as other Conservatives/Republicans cry and complain about the Democrats/Liberals.  They scream about unethical Democratic Party members in Congress and the White House.  Again, one begs to ask these same righteous naysayers why their party is supporting Newt Gingrich.  For those of you who may read this and not know about newt’s past I offer this quick historical summary.  As Speaker of the House, gingrich was found guilty of ethics violations when it was proven that he intentionally lied to the Ethics committee in an investigation.  In true newt gingrich fashion he blamed his staff for lying to the Ethics Committee even though he had signed the illegal paperwork.   he was fined $300,000 and received a formal reprimand.  This was the first time in over 200 year that the Speaker of the House was charged with ethic’s violations.

So…once again…well done Republicans/Conservatives.  You have shown the country the type of people you truly are and the leader who will help spread your pro-adultery and unethical philosophy!!!

  • Lioness

I even WROTE the word SARCASTIC! Are you kidding me?! I’m voting for NEWT. I was trying to point out to the thick brains how well Obama is not doing yet he is married to one woman while Newt was married 3 times. The fact that I have to write this simplistic for you tells me why some people have a hard time understanding Newt or anything for that matter.

Funny, the truly revealing part of the exit polls in the South Carolina Primaries was the “It’s important that the candidate shares my same beliefs” question(60% of the electorate). 46% voted for Gingrich(3 wives, cheated on 2, that we know of) 20% voted for Romney(only 1 wife, still married, never cheated, and is a Mormon) Was the a bias in the primary?…I think so.

Ron Paul is the only true conservative running for president!!  There is absolutely no garbage on this man. He knows the constitution inside out and backwards. He is the only one true to his word and will turn the country around. Newt may be a good debater but debates are not what we need to save our nation. Wake up people!!

Kinabru is in LOVE with Romney. I’ve been arguing with her for awhile and her only defense for Romney involves media sound bites and how nice his smile is. You can literally show her facts and she still does not listen. All logic is lost when you have a crush on the candidate. So really, don’t waste to much time with her (believe me I already did a month ago). It’s more irritating than it’s worth. As you can see, she really has nothing to say.

When did TRUTH become OPINION? And when did people start believing OPINION to be TRUTH? I’m writing this in light of the death of Joe Paterno. The media did not cause his cancer, but did they help him fight it? He was fired because of the actions of Sandusky and demonized before any “truth” was even mentioned. We really don’t know the truth. I am sad for his family and sickened by the media who even now plugs his involvement. I really enjoyed Glenn Becks show but I beg of his fans to take his advice and do your own research. Remember Orson Wells is one of his heroes, If you do not know: “On October 30th, 1938, the United States experienced mass hysteria–most pronounced on the east coast in New York and New Jersey–in response to a radio broadcast put on by Orson Welles and his Mercury Theater On The Air. The public reaction has prompted decades of research into mass hysteria…” (www.war-of-the-worlds.org) Some people committed suicide because of this. People believed the world was actually going to end. Sound familiar? Remember every one has an agenda. Let’s say things get better. Glenn put a lot of money into his new internet venture. It would definitely put a damper on things wouldn’t it? Just a thought. He is still entertaining but don’t vote for someone because of him. Do your own research. Ron Paul and Newt Gingrigh have the least to gain from doing this, they are the most unwitting candidates. It’s clear Santorum and Romney both wish to advance their career (Just my thoughts of course). The media has become so irresponsible with the truth and irresponsibility breeds socialism. Next will be censorship thanks to those who could not even bother with the facts. I’ll continue to support Newt in his slam against the media and all it currently stands for.

So does Gingrich, so why do you support a republican liar?  He has a robocall that has very bad static on it with a clip from one of his last debates—he is talking about people that are laid off, that they should get paid training, he is going on and on about it—funny thing they already have that, there was a guy laid off, he said he got unemployment and training.  Newt is acting like it is a new idea, not.  I told the girl that came on after the soundbite to tell Grinch to go to hexx.

  • Anonymous

I thought Newt was pawning himself off as a right wing conservative, you say he is not, I don’t think he is either, I think he is left.

  • Anonymous

    Like the Grinch?

  • Anonymous

Who do you think puts out the numbers, people, they both lie.

  • Anonymous

Indeed… It’s absolutely amazing how illiterate and incoherent some of these people are.

  • James_Romero

If I have to get stuck with a RINO, I’ll take Newt over Mitt any day.

  • James_Romero

Seriously, I don’t think the left has the ability to distinguish fact from opinion.  They really really want something to be true so they say it’s true.  Never trust a Marxist, they lie for a living.

  • James_Romero

Ron Paul?  Conservative?  Really?  Those drugs you are taking aint legal yet.

  • Anonymous

That pretty much sums it up.

  • James_Romero

The problem you have is that someone would need to wake Ron up when it’s his turn to talk.

  • Anonymous

Romney is not a RINO, Newt is,:  he was for cap/trade, said he wanted a national healthcare mandate, likes the ethanol subsities, he is good friends with the Tofflers—they are for a one world order (so is newt), they are against school prayer, anti-christian, “birds of a feather flock together”.  Newt is a devious person, I think he is even worse than Obama.

  • barbara clemen

I have to agree with you there, Benny and Ryan.

  • Anonymous

I like Ron Paul, he is a good, decent man, unlike that gasbag adulterer. I like Romney, but if it would come down to a vote between Paul and Newt, I would vote Paul in a heartbeat.

  • Anonymous

As you can see, some here will degrade others for their opinion.  You make up your own mind with the facts you find on your own-come to a conclusion based on candidate records.  Keeping in mind that a perfect person does not exists in spite of what some may think.

  • James_Romero

They are both RINOS.  Newt has a more conservative record behind him.  Explain Romney-Care to me.  Why is it that you Romney supporters always sound like liberals?

  • James_Romero

Agreed, I could never support Mitt in a Primary.  Should he get the nomination I’ll vote for him.  Sorry about the ‘liberal” comment, I get carried away sometimes.

  • Anonymous

If you say that you couldn’t support Mitt, then whatever I have to say is a waste of time.  I am sure you have heard over and over that the healthcare in Ma. is state not fed., big difference, if the people of Ma don’t like it, they can put it on the ballot and vote it out, why don’t they, perhaps they like it.  When Mitt became gov., the 85% dem. legislature was going to put a heathcare in place–the fed. gov. was going to cut off Medicade funding because too many in Ma. were on the dole–so Mitt set out to try and get the fairest healthcare only 8% needed the plan the rest of the people kept their private healthcare.  Newt thouht the plan was wondrful, now he is throwing darts at Mitt and you call Mitt a rino—Newt is the biggest Rino of all.

I can understand your concern-our country is on the precipice of disaster and how we vote in Nov. will make a difference to our survival.  Liberals want a different course for America-one that endangers our freedoms and life as we know it.   Anyone of the four candidates would be better than Obama.   Only one will get that chance.

I appreciate the fact that his ire was directed at the media but when is anyone going to get to the part where he deeply and profoundly hurts women and ” moves on”. No one cares about the fact that he trashed these women. When do we get to that dialogue?

That’s is the part I don’t understand. The women are expected to move on and forget about it. How many dumped women go out and find new fulfilling relationships. Very few, they are old and used up. It doesn’t work both directions. Dumped wives usually end up spending the rest of their lives alone. Their best years were given to a man they thought loved and cared for them. They gave birth to and raised his children. I guess the joke was on them. If so, the joke is on all women.

How dare anyone ask about something as personal as coldly rejecting a wife who is not only seriously ill (in sickness and in health, yeah right) but did nothing  terrible except get older and get sick..
Traded in for a newer model, these women go to the trash heap, the don’t get recycled. More men will now justify similar behavior ( remember oral sex is no longer sex). Do we now think you have to be cold and heartless to be presidential material? The South Carolina bible belters really took the bait.

Newt did this not once, but twice. His third wife is so smug and confident. He’s a fool but foolish men have always fared better than foolish women. If he becomes president, it will be the only reason he doesn’t dump wife number 3. Bad PR. If he abrogates wedding vows so easily what is the limit to his ability to justify breaking other types of contracts?
If you don’t want your old wife anymore, at least have the decency to treat her right and get divorced before proposing to the next one.

I find it ironic that he claims to be a Catholic now. Get all those divorces out of the way before you convert and all will be forgiven. It like buying Indulgences during the Middle Ages.

    Why

All human politics are out to save their own skins leaving those who truly believe in their
Creator as the ones that believe they have the voting power to elect them.
If you really believe that? Then truly you are misled and deceived. Voting is so corrupted and
there is really no proof of it’s accuracy we as man could never prove it’s truth and politicians know this.
The only truth that is going to be known to all humans is the return of our Lord Jesus Christ!
We will be all for him or against him. Very soon. Which side will you be on?

You are one of the simplest fu*** I have ever come across. Your cult trained you well on twisting facts and lying, but you obviously lack common sense, wit or a sense of humor.
I don’t mind your little comments though. It is a nice ego boost to read your juvenile posts.

Ahhhhhh! The crooked straight talker! the oxymoron of truth. The wasted words of
all time that no one understands. Why? Common sense is not in him and shows the
inadequacy that college education has become. This one must be ignored until it
changes it’s ways, and develops a common sense that true life in reality is based on.
That truly is the Creator of all things Yahweh God. He will show His Creation truth.

It died when this country lost repentance and started worrying about doing whatever it wants when it wants. Those of us who have never had any use for adultery, alcohol or violence are tired of forgiving people who don’t sober up until they have something to gain from it politically, or just plain don’t mean it.

  • http://twitter.com/whiteknight111 Blake H.

Newt acts like he’s never done anything wrong. And people love it. Because this is a country with a political class that loves it when people run from God, responsibility and principles. It’s a license to do whatever the heck they want. The only thing is this: You play, you pay. It catches up, believe me. Look in a mirror and figure it out.

i guess that you are not a christian. in christ, we ARE all brothers and sisters. and there are two mormon beilifs. i find it anoying that every time a mormon gets in the spotlight everyone starts to pin the beiliefs of the wacky weird cult on them instead of the reiligion that they acturaly belong to.

I was just pointing out Glenn’s inconsistency about redemption.Only God knows who really means it.

I am a Christian. Jesus is the only begotten Son of God the Father. Those who believe in Christ become adopted sons and daughters of God. We are therefore brothers and sisters of Christ. Those who reject Christ as their Savior are sons and daughters of Satan.

    Yeah, they were.

Ron Paul said (paraphrase): “Let’ be nice to our neighbors and let them handle their own business. If someone attacked us on our own soil, we’d hate them too.”

The crowd said (paraphrase): “You stupid, freaking, boob – what are you trying to get us killed? We will invade, kill or leave for dead anyone who tries to mess with us – THAT is the foreign policy we want, not this silly ‘Golden Rule’ thing – save it for Sunday minister.”

Though not saying these exact words, this is how I would interpret the jeerers jeers.

How many other Presidents have had affairs while in office: (and probably long before becoming presdent)   John F, Kennedy, Lyndon  Johnson(also a Speaker of the House), Bill Clinton,…and how many others we don’t know about ….. !!!Note, these are all Democrats. The Country does not seem to remember them for their dalliances, and poor judgement in personal matters.

Brilliant ideas, superior debating ability, knowledge of history, and common sense solutions to all of the Country’s problems.  THAT IS MY GUY! NEWT!!!

If the standard is what the other guys do we are in big trouble.  Newt is the wrong candidate.  His backers are like the “other woman” who always thinks the problem is with the current wife and if the “other woman” can just garner that title all will be well…listen voters…if he’ll do it to them….he’ll do it to you.

To me, Newt came across as scolding and supremely arrogant – Obama without the teleprompter.

Glenn is predominately correct on MOST of his analysis that he shares..That’s why I became a GBTV annual member..BUT..HE’S 360 DEGREES OUTTA SINC IN HIS DEMONIZING OF NEWT GINGRICH.!! I don’t give a big ratsazz about Newt’s “baggage”..it’s his ability to work as he did with President Reagan, Jack Kemp, Art Laffer..etal to begin the TURN AROUND from “peanut” Carter.. & again with Clinton & Tip O’Neil in a democratic infested House & Senate..Newt will be the BEST to get the country back on a recovery basis…BUT..He’ll still need the House majority & a Majority in the Senate to enhance that agenda!!
