We do need someone who understand’s success and wants American’s to be successful to. When Romney was Governor the average median household income across the state increased by 10%. At least Mitt’s honest in paying his taxes. Unlike the Narcissist Newt Gingrich who lies repeatedly and tried to mirror Newts self onto Romney last night to make Romney be the bad guy. I’m a therapist and understand what the dangerous implications would be if Newt was to win. A true Narcissist is very very skilled at manipulating and mirroring their greatest weaknesses onto others to deflect from their own weaknesses (note how he blame’s the media to not look at himself and Romney in order to not look at himself) while stroking his ego by appearing to take on the qualities of others. Notice that he take’s the credit for every good thing that has happened in America over the last 35 years.  If people don’t see through his personality disorder our country is truly headed for danger and we will be much safer staying with Obama because Newts actions will most likely lead to greater volatile conflict with other countries. Remember as a Narcissist his root and perhaps subconscious goal is not to save our country it’s to stroke his ego. If he wants to do that by over taking other countries without any wisdom and caution involved he will do so. His disgraceful record will not end when he is president. His personality disorder will insure that.

Ann is 100% right about Gingrich. I have friends who worked in Washington during the Gingrich era and they are just numb at the thought of Gingrich winning the nomination.

South Carolina voters gave me a front row viewof how un-informed they really are and how to many people vote by emotion and not their brains.  Newt may be able to debate well, but scolding the media in order to deflect having to answer difficult questions will always raise a red flag with me.  While I found Newt’s reaction refreshing, his answer was not made and I have noticed him using this technique before in order not to answer questions.  If people would take the time to look at his record, what the republicans in Washington are saying about Newt, prehaps they would make a different choice.  My fear is if Newt gets the republican nomination, we will have 4 more years of Obama.  If, for some miracle, Newt is elected President, he will, I fear, so alienate both sides that nothing will be accomplished.

Oh, I’ll definitely vote – ABO. Gringrich would never otherwise get a vote from me, if he indeed is all that I have to choose from.  I do believe in redemption because I’ve seen those who have sought it and live the life; they talk the talk the walk and walk. I don’t feel Newt is being genuine, and his record substantiates that feeling. NG was planning this run for the presidency when he began publishing books regarding our heritage and Constitution. He planned to use those proceeds to enhance his war chest simply for this opportunity. I’ve not read those books, however, I knew exactly what he was doing. That’s all fine and capitalistic, but in my heart, I can’t bear to support another candidate who is so shallow and conniving and most of all, so far left leaning. I did that four years ago with McCain, knowing that casting my ballot would not be enough.  Alas, I will vote as I have in the past, conservative to the core, but NG is not the man for me, nor is Romney. Paul would be fine with the exception of his stance on foreign policy. He is also credited with many large tax cuts including the capital gains and estate taxes and more. If you sold your house and made gains you paid less thanks to him. The same law that they’re bashing Romney for now.

Everybody knows Clinton was pushing for healthcare and stalling on welfare reform but Gingrich and the GOP pushed the reform and got it. Furthermore, welfare reform was real. They gave workplace incentives to hire off welfare roles and companies DID because MINE was one of them. It was called Welfare to Work. They also put limits on recipients. I viewed the video WHAT A EYE OPENER!

I woke up this morning and I finally understood – why is Glenn relentless on his attacks on Newt and why, does he go to extreme lengths to continue to attack him?

I’ve asked on multiple occasions for balanced, complete reviews on each of the candidates. I’ve also asked for ‘future projections’ as to what this country would look like if they were elected. I believe both of these ideas would make for entertaining and enlightening programs.

Instead we continue to be treated to unbalanced coverage. Why?

So I just looked at the candidates and it quickly became clear that Romney, upon careful investigation, is going to appear very liberal. Now, he may currently be claiming the reverse on various positions, but overall, he is going to look the most liberal.

For whatever reason, and I have no idea what it is, Glenn has expressed that while he is uncomfortable or downright scared of Romney on some issues, and prefers Santorum overall, he definitely would not vote for Newt, even threatening to ‘go third party’.

So it appears Romney cannot stand up to direct scrutiny, but Glenn prefers him over Newt if Santorum is out. Thus the mix of coverage we are seeing here.

I have no problem with Glenn’s position or strategy on this – but it is very helpful to understand this as otherwise he looks a bit crazy – but clearly he is not, just isn’t really articulating his strategy to us…

Numbers don’t lie Margaret. You are one of the very people Ann is talking about. Do you really believe you are more knowledgeable on this than Ann is? … Or is it possible you have found yourself caught up in some sort of emotional rhetoric?

As much as I have enjoyed Glenn’s show and have been listening to his talks since he was on CNN, this is crap! Even if you don’t want Gingrich as the GOP selection you can’t sling mud at him and hope that it sticks! He has been quite explicit about his criticisms of FDR & Woodrow Wilson, does not favors amnesty for illegals (he favors going the right channels to come into the US) and he was paid a stipend by the managers of Freddie Mac who asked for his advise. Get your facts straight or you will look like an ass!

My opinion is that the current system is flawed in the following ways:

A. Open primaries are
allowed in many states. This allows other parties to affect our
parties’ choice in candidates – never to the benefit of our party.

B. It causes people to believe that the person who best reflects their values is a loser! We should never think this. We should never allow anyone to tell us that our values are wrong. If we are
susceptible to this weakness, then we can be told who to vote for. I
will NOT be told who to vote for!

Romney’s antics and milquetoast fence sitting
do not reflect my values. He has run as a progressive, a moderate and
now as a conservative. His flip on abortion is the only believable position.
His excuse of states rights for Romneycare is so weak as to be
laughable. This man does NOT share my values and as much as I admire Ann, I cannot support her on this one.

Have to say sadly both Anne and Glenn are wrong about Gingrich in my opinion.

I like Romney but his debate performances show he has difficulty communication his thoughts, mumbles too much and generally sounds like a college professor.

Republicans need someone who is unafraid to bring up ALL the baggage that Obama carries …like McCain chose not to in 2008.

Clear debate is necessary to convince voters that the well prepped and excellent speaker they see in Obama …is a puppet whose background is flawed

eg. Member of a Black Liberation church for 20 years…whose ideology is a mixture of gospel and Marxism…and THIS is Obama’s background and ideology.

In 2008 we got a great speaker, a constitutional expert and someone who told us what we wanted to hear.  Look where that got us us ! It is the congress who is supposed to make law and is the check and balance that keeps the pres. in line.  I would much rather have a flipper being controlled by a conservative congress than a arrogant, pompus know-it-all like we have now!

I am a conservative, and I haven’t decided yet whom I prefer to be the GOP’s candidate for president. Here’s my view of Newt Gingrich:                                                                 The fact that Newt Gingrich will fight ‘fire with fire’, shows he’s got the spine and wherewithal to go ‘toe-to-toe’ with anybody, specially Obama, who’s got a lot more baggage to fend off, if he starts spewing off lies, innuendos and trash…!                                                                 Newt’s Ethics violations charges (84 total) were dropped except one: “for claiming tax-exempt status for a college course run for political purposes…”        It is worthy to note that during Gingrich’s term as Speaker of the House, the government was shutdown twice, totaling 28 Days, due to the spending conflict by the Clinton administration on Medicare, education, environment and public health. Only after Clinton agreed to a CBO-approved balanced budget plan, did the shutdown ended. To quote Gingrich about the shutdowns – “Everybody in Washington thinks that was a big mistake. They’re exactly wrong…..Part of the reasons we got reelected, is our base thought we were serious…because when it came to a show-down, we didn’t flinch!” He did orchestrate a lot of conservative laws, even under a Democrat president!

That’s what is so unusal-we don’t hear the media going after him.  He’s been the front runner for a long time, yet ms treats him like they do obama-they fudge over the person they want elected.

So we should also be focusing on congressional races to insure a conservatively controlled congress (say that three times fast), is that your thought? I agree with that premise completely.

We conservatives made more of an impact on the liberal agenda by supporting conservative candidates and getting involved in the process in 2010. We did it by confront the lying liberal when necessary, and ignore the fools when they whine and staying focused. We need to stop bickering about who humped whom, and focus on who will promote our agenda. After all, Obama was admittedly snorting cocaine and in a drug induced haze for awhile. His “autobiography” about his famously interesting life discusses this felonious behavior, but not a lot of folks are in arms about that.
I love Ann, and will continue to. However, I could live with Newt if he understood that we conservatives expect him to govern within certain parameters.

We are getting caught up in the process, and forgetting the objective. Would Newt’s infidelity affect his decision to have a balanced budget and smaller government with fewer regulations? It certainly wouldn’t, so quit whining about it and move on. I’m not a Newt supporter, but if properly “warned”, he is the best option until somebody else pops into the race.

Well Said, Stephen. I really dislike open primaries and caucases–I believe that primaries should only be available to the party voting and that caucases put group pressure on individuals. I feel my vote is skewed by these and that voting precedures should be standardized across the country. But that’s just me!!

Newt’s smile doesn’t make him seem cuddly – his fluffiness does! His smile (?) makes him look phony and really creepy. I’d like him better if I’d never seen him smile.
What Newt portrays, that conservatives want right now, is intelligence and strength. Obama is foolish but strong….Whether we like it or not, he just keeps stomping forward – all over our constitution, and nothing stops him. 
Romney would make the best president – He’s a man of character, he’s smart, and he is the opposite of divisive. Plus, it would be nice to have a president who has had success managing his own money that didn’t initially come from taxes or activist groups. 
If people knew all the good that Romney has done, all of his volunteer work…, if they really understood what is at the heart of this man, they’d be more sure that he understands the common man, and all of this “out-of-touch, rich-guy” thing would be over. But he has too much character to capitalize on those experiences. He must believe in waiting on the heavenly reward for those things.  
 I like Santorum a lot. But my lifelong Republican husband, who is also really smart, says that Santorum is not “like-able”. I don’t know if he has what it takes to lead our government and to convince people to work together. Is he presidential? Well.., he’s smart and a good man, but I don’t know if he’s got the people skills to make the right things happen in D.C.

I thought that this election cycle would bring forth a superman kind of candidate. I was dreaming. There is no superman.

I was shocked to hear that Romney, at one time, claimed to be “a progressive”. If he’d been a constitutional conservative, we can be sure that he would have never been Governor of Massachusetts. Is it possible that he claimed that only for political purposes?

This I know, that his (and my) church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints believes that the Constitution of the United States is a document inspired of God to serve the cause of the freedom of man. I’ve even heard it referred to as a covenant with God.

The Book of Mormon repeatedly espouses the principle of freedom. Some of it’s greatest prophets and heroes champion the causes of liberty.

Romney has stated that if elected, he would appoint “strict constructionists”- Constitutionalists, to the Supreme Court. I like the sound of that. And if a state wants their own government to be bloated or liberal or conservative – that is the right of the people of that state. I think and hope that that is the reason for Romney’s more liberal positions as Governor.

as for him not accepting a wage while he is president, the president does not have access to their money while in office…or rather he is not supose to. i noticed that obama does in fact use his own money while in office, but he does a lot of other stuff that he can’t legally do too. for instance, he never did vote in the last presidental election. he had his wife fill out the voters card for him. it is illegal, but who can fault the man for having the real brains do it for them. while we are at it, there are so many people out here that are too stupid to vote correctly. we will just have mrs. obama fill out your voters cards for you. you don’t mind do you?

I am not amazed at either Ann or Glenn not liking Newt for President,but I wonder if Newt won the nomination,who would they vote for? Yes, Newt has baggage.  Don’t we all?!  We’re all fallen people saved only by the grace of God!  The Tea Party and Evangelicals are standing behind Newt.  A reporter asked a pastor why Christians and the Tea Party were supporting Newt.  The Pastor’s answer:  “It starts with forgiveness.”  Glenn, you of all people should understand what forgiveness is all about.  I will take Newt over Romney any day!

Glenn, I admire you, have heeded your warnings and have prepared.  I thank you for taking a stand and not being afraid to take a stand against evil.  I was at 8/28, and hope to be at Restoring Love.  I have been a subscriber of GBTV since June before your daily program even began.  I disagree with your stance against Newt, but we still have the freedom to be able to agree to disagree!  At least for now we still have that freedom.  Let’s pray we don’t lose it!

Glenn, you need to get together with your Black Robe Regiment and make a massive effort to reach the Amish, Mennonite, and other religious groups that don’t normally vote and encourage them to Register and Vote!  This election is THAT IMPORTANT!  We will lose all our freedoms if Obama is elected again.  If he is elected, it will be because he illegally won the victory through voter fraud, not because he earned it!

You know as well as I do that Santorum doesn’t have a chance at getting the nomination.  I wish he did, but he doesn’t.  I really wish you wouldn’t bash Newt so much.  He’s not perfect, that’s for sure (neither am I, nor you, nor anybody else), but he’s still a better choice than Romney!

Meg- I agree with you kris48. Romney earned his money. Could it be that Newt knows that, and is jealous of Romney’s honesty?

Meg- I like Santorum, but I think he likes more experience to take on the mess our country is in. Next time around, maybe? I really think Paul would be a disaster. Like some of his ideas, but some are scary.

Meg- I will vote for the winner, because our greatest focus should be on getting Obama out. He has done more harm to the USA, than any other president.

Meg- Glenn Beck has come from a miserable life to a happy life. I have watched his program over and over, and never saw where he thought he was a ” Holier than Thou person. The changes he made were for the better. How about you? If a person can change from bad to good and stay with it for 20 years plus, Amen to them.

I really hate to hear  Ann and Glenn bashing Newt Gunrich.   No, I don’t think he is perfect or will make a perfect president but I do believe he would be more likely to unseat Obama than Mitt Romney.   Romney will lose any debate with Obama.

Ann Coulter, thank you. Finally someone sees Newt for what he really is. I think he likes to hear himself and hear the applauds. Maybe he should become an actor so he can really get the applauds.

I think he is the liar and disgrace that he calls Mitt. Yes, I am a Mitt fan. We all have been asked to forgive Newt his indiscretions because he found God. Let’s turn the coin, we can’t believe that Mitt has had a change of heart over different issues. He explained that he getting older and seeing things from all sides that he has changed. But that can’t be accepted. Well excuse me, I rather excuse someone who has changed his views over time to an immoral man. I have no use for Newt. Sorry to be so angry, but I am tired of Americans excusing men and women of indiscretions. I have been married for 45 years to the same man and he has never strayed.
