Ted Cruz talks federal deficit, Santorum endorsement

At the start of the radio show this morning, Rick Santorum made a major endorsement of Texas Senatorial candidate Ted Cruz. Later in the show, Cruz called in to give his reaction and to discuss why this election season is important, not just for the Presidency but for all of Congress.

“You know, the fight for liberty, which is unifying conservatives across the spectrum, is the fight to save our country. And if we don’t get back to the Constitution, we’re going to lose liberty,” Cruz said.

Cruz noted he had received endorsements from Sarah Palin, Rand Paul, and Ron Paul in addition to the one from Santorum today.

“I’ll tell you it is an incredible blessing to be the child of an immigrant who fled oppression because it makes you realize how fragile liberty is and how precious it is. We are a shining city on a hill, as Reagan famously put it. And when you remember those stakes, then, you know, a bunch of fat cats in Washington that are just trying to spend our money don’t seem all that scary. You know, I’d much rather stand with the citizens and patriots across Texas and across the country reclaiming liberty and reclaiming the Constitution than with a whole bunch of lobbyists that just want to suckle on the teat of government,” Cruz explained.

Ted Cruz faces Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst and former Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert in a primary next Tuesday.

Hey Ted.  Are you going to tell your constituency that you are going to vote to raise the age of retirement on social security.  If so, to what age?  How about cuts in Medicare?  Unless I see and hear you comment on those things, you are just engaging in generalities and are just not telling the truth of things.  In other words, a typical politician.

I do not live in Texas, therefore, can not vote for him so he is meaningless to me.

    RON PAUL

I like Ron Paul but he has no prayer. This country has slowly eroded to where it is. It will need to be put back in the right direction slowly. Ted Cruz is a step in the right direction. You cant wrench it back in one night. Baby steps, patience and hard work. If we are going to stand on our principles with no common sense we will fail. We should settle for the Romneys now and fight for the Wests of the future. Climb the mountain slowly and you will reach the top. Get impatient and leap, we all know what happens.

Such a short sighted answer! Greywolfrs. No matter where you are, all opportunities we have to bring in tea party like candidates, we should rally behind. It should be meaningful to you or are you ok with more left leaning republicans being voted in?

Seeing the other types of candidates that Palin and Hannity have supported throughout the country it doesn’t make me feel good to hear that they support Mr. Cruz.  Hopefully they got this one right though.

If I were running for elected office I would welcome one from Charles Manson before I would Rick Santorum
