Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro recently held an election in which the country voted to essentially abolish their congress. Maduro is now building his own congress, made primarily of supporters, stating that his first act will be to jail opposition leaders and completely rewrite their constitution.
Although some are claiming this scenario is the complete death of democracy, Glenn disagrees.
“This is just the next phase in democracies. Democracies always end the way Venezuela does. This is why were are not a democracy,” Glenn said.
Venezuelan citizens are in a desperate state, even going to local dumpsters to find animal carcasses for food.
