CHARLIE KIRK: Trump treats his rallies as a chance to learn

Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA joined Glenn on radio on Monday and talked about what he's learned from all the Trump rallies he's a attended. His new book "The MAGA Doctrine" highlights what he's learned and how the Trump movement has newer and better ideas that the political establishment on the right or the radicals on the left. Here are a few of his observations:
  • Trump at CPAC – people see him as their friend, letting the average person in on everything
  • Trump goes to rallies to LEARN what Americans want him to do, doing internal polling
  • Like a shareholder's report
  • Everyone's locked in and engaged, no phones, etc
  • The best example in Kirk's lifetime of citizen government
  • Voter loyalty is because he listens to them
  • Trump feels safe to say what he believes at the rallies
  • Trump feels far more comfortable in front of middle-class Americans than DC elite

'The Raven' and 'The Tell-Tale Heart' as read by Glenn

Glenn reads some of his favorite poetic works of Edgar Allen Poe—"The Raven" and "The Tell-Tale Heart"—stories he used to read to his kids every Halloween. He also tells the love story of Edgar Allan Poe and his wife, Virginia, whom he married when she was only 13 years old.
